Well, this forum has been a little bit not so busy lately, so I decided to start a new topic that is at the same time a poll, for us have some fun and learn how can we improve our simulation experience. I've been thinking about purchasing some new stuff to upgrade my Flight Simulator for the arrival of the NGX and thought: "Hey, maybe other people are doing the same!", so I decided to ask. Please stop by and leave your thoughts. I'll give the first shot.I do have plans, but money is short right now. In my wishlist I have TOPCAT, REX, Active Sky, an AI traffic, which I haven't decided yet and FS2Crew of course. I won't buy scenerios because I think there are other things I can buy instead that are more 'useful' and my computer is not that good for me to put some heavy graphics in it. Actually, I'm still considering not buying REX for that reason. As I said, I have not decided which add-on AI is the 'best', so I'd like a help. For those people who has these softwares, I'd like a opinion of yours regarding the good and bad things of them.

Little suggestion: if you are searching for realism, so you need to buy TOPCAT...it's not so expansive and it's an amazing product that contains all the things you need for TOs and LANDINGs...i can't fly without it anymore...(they are developing now a new flight planner, to integrate topcat and recreate a realistic way to plan the flight...i'm waiting for that...)If you prefer graphics so i suggest you REX, that's something unbelivable for a simulation...the clouds, the sea, the sky are all perfet with that...Cheers,

Don't worry man, TOPCAT is the #1 in my list, definitely! REX is amazing too. I watched some videos and the graphics leaves anyone speechless. It's beautiful. It is at my top 5 too, but as I said, computer issues. I have a good processor, a large amount of memory available but I also have an on-board video card, that is not so good. I have problems with framerates even with FSX default scenery in big airports areas, like JFK, where my FS runs at 5 to 7 or 8 FPS, but in other areas I have good frame rates with relatively good graphics. I'm looking forward to buy a new graphic card and expand my RAM memory, but until then...

Hi. Im really thinking of buying radar contact (hate so much the default atc) does anyone knows when the new RC comes out? Also ASE is on my wish list, dont know which one should i buy first.I saw at my friends place the my traffic x addon. I liked the real airlines to each airport. i will consider buying that also

Im trying to fix FSX. I have a pinacle FSX.cfg that I made, but its collapsed and gone down hill - it was days away from being made public. Ive reinstalled FSX, but now REX isnt working =/

I have most of the good stuff as far as add-ons. What I am really looking forward to are airports like KSFO Flightbeam, KLAX Fsdreamteam, KSAN Celosim, KPDX ORBX/FTX. I have lots of east coast airports so I can hardly wait to fly the cross country flights. I also really want to get trackir as well. I can hardly wait.

just intalled rex i dont run the hd textures so it runs and looks good on my system, also just got ultimate traffic 2 which runs quite good as well traffics set at 50% and dont notice any slow down at uk2000 egph scenery plus you can set the framerate and ut will decrease the volume of traffic to keep the framerate at whatever its set at.soon as fscrew voice is released im goint to get that, i already use fscrew voice for the pmdg 737 in fs9 and its amazing, was also considering ase.

thank you,Jim

I made my decision regarding add-on traffic. Ryan posted here yesterday saying he has Ultimate Traffic 2. I decided to take a look and downloaded the demo version and loved it. The planes have a good design but don't impact so much my FPS. I'll buy after I put my hands on the NGX. I'll get TOPCAT and FS2Crew NGX edition first and try to convince my parents to give me UT2 as a birthday gift next month. I also have ASE and REX in the top of my list.

With out a doubt the most importent addon, wil be Fs2Crew! Thats the only thinge i have to spend my money on.

Try TOPCAT too, if you want a realistic performance calculator. I wasn't going to purchase TOPCAT, but I decided to test and downloaded the demo version. It is not expensive and worth every penny. Ask those who have it.

I want to buy ASE, but many people said they're having problems with the winds, that some planes do not establish at the path. What I want to know is: should I buy FSUIPC together with ASE because of the wind smothing option or not? And what is REX 2 OD?

Matheus Mafra

I already have 35+ addons, including aircraft, ai, REX, ASE, etc, but what I really need want is to update my PC. Should be pretty since I'm opening an online business for completely custom computers. I want to go with a new SB and get a nice GPU and SSD because the bottlenecks are opening up with new technology. I also want to get PNW and the Boeing pack if orbx does it. There has been no talk of this though except for on this forum. (that I'm aware of)
