February 2, 201115 yr What's Commercial Group, and how did the join? (The golden name users) Sorry for the topic's name, long history, lol
February 2, 201115 yr Hi,We are all not one group, but have some sort of connection to a payware company. For example I am the Support person for all HiFi Simulations products.
February 2, 201115 yr To expand a bit on Jim's straight to the point explanation, we assign the "commercial member" tag to people associated with payware products or services as both an honorable mention and a way for the moderators, and everyone else for that matter, to tell them apart from everyone else. Commercial members abide by the same rules as everyone else with the exception that they can not misuse the forums to promote their products. Other than that, they get no more and no less privaleges than anyone else here. However, they do get a certain respect that accompanies their "tag" here in the forums, at least from people like me who have an appreciation for their contributions to the community. I wish we could do the same for freeware developers, but I suspect that list would be far too long to manage, and could be muddied when deciding what it would take to be considered a freeware contributer worthy of the tag. While I'm at it, and just in case you didn't know, the green names represent AVSIM staff, such as reviewers and I think the front page news crew. The purple is for the file library folks. Red is the moderators/admin. And blue is the root admin gang. Any name in red that says "rightseater" represents a special type of member who is especially handsome and desirable to all. Maybe a touch of exaggeration on that last one.......just a touch. Jeremy "rightseater" Fletcher
