What are these numbers in a saved flight (flt) file?

Does anyone know what the numbers in bold represent in this sample paragraph from a saved flt file? Hi,Typically that data location is for the altitude of something. I am not sure if that holds true in this case. Slew to the point and see what the altitude is to check.

Martin- I have to say first that I haven't got a clue! But those bolded #s look suspiciously like cumulative waypoint distances from a starting waypoint. Part of a Flight Plan perhaps?AR

Hi - thanks for replying.;They are not altitudes, that is the earlier number (in metres). And they are not cumulative distances, as can be seen in another example..WpInfo0=487, 0, 26, 0, 0, 22932.0, 0.0, 0.0WpInfo1=485, 0, 3845, 0, 0, 0.0, 309.7, 0.0WpInfo2=488, 0, 9144, 0, 0, 0.0, 635.4, 0.0WpInfo3=490, 0, 9144, 0, 0, 0.0, 233.3, 0.0WpInfo4=486, 0, 9144, 0, 0, 0.0, 874.0, 0.0WpInfo5=486, 0, 9144, 0, 0, 0.0, 858.0, 0.0WpInfo6=485, 0, 9144, 0, 0, 0.0, 918.3, 0.0WpInfo7=484, 0, 9144, 0, 0, 0.0, 1140.8, 0.0WpInfo8=490, 0, 9144, 0, 0, 0.0, 1148.9, 0.0WpInfo9=487, 0, 9144, 0, 0, 0.0, 521.5, 0.0WpInfo10=487, 0, 9144, 0, 0, 0.0, 1274.9, 0.0WpInfo11=486, 0, 9144, 0, 0, 0.0, 699.8, 0.0WpInfo12=487, 0, 9144, 0, 0, 0.0, 1300.3, 0.0WpInfo13=487, 0, 9144, 0, 0, 0.0, 801.7, 0.0 ..... and so on..... nor distances between waypoints (I checked with the flightplan to be sure)Hmmm. Must mean something! I've no idea what the numbers after the equals signs are either... (This information would be useful to me for correcting flightplans without having to go back to the original flight in FS9 to re-save a corrected version).M.

Fuel used? That's a good idea! And it seems to correspond. Here is part of a flight plan from Heathrow to Milan. The first number is the distance, the second the 'mystery' number. Could certainly be the fuel: EGLL 21.5 72.4GY 27.7 93.2SFD 64.2 216.7DSA 91.1 307.6BTY 27.7 93.5PEKIM 49.5 167.0PIMUP 56.5 190.9ATN 40.5 136.6MOKIP 47.6 160.5GLA 44.8 151.1SIO 69.3 233.8LIMCThanks for the reply,M.

Hi,Can't you just open the plan in FS and with a hard copy in hand go to the Nav Log screen and find the matching numbers?

Fuel used?
Estimated fuel burn for that leg.

Yes, fuel used (or that 'will be used', I should rather have said) during that leg. That leaves the numbers after the equals sign?? (487, 485 ...). I'll not enquire about all the zeros! :-)M.

Have a look here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc707071.aspxLook about 1/3 of the way down the document, under "[gps_engine]".Apparently, its waypoint information.Direct from the Microsoft ESP SDK, Flight Files

  • wpinfo0towpinfoN
  • Waypoint information in the order:estimated knots, actual knots, height in meters, actual time enroute, estimated time of arrival, fuel remaining when arrived, estimate of fuel required for the leg, actual fuel used for the leg. Some of the values may be unknown and recorded as zero.

Thanks Gene - that's very useful. I Googled for something like that before posting here, but didn't find anything. I'll copy that page to my hard drive for future reference.Martin
