Any real solution for Imagine Sim KLGA?

Featured Replies

I was hoping that when I decided to reinstall FSX on to my computer, that the problem with the lights at Imagine Sim's LaGuardia would go away. I know that the addon had a problem with the runway lights due to using it with FSX Acceleration, so I went ahead and did a complete reinstall of FSX withe the Deluxe Edition. Believe me, there are no old files any where on my hard drives. All I use this computer is for FSX, so I did a complete installation of the operating system and all. Any way, the problem with the runway lights went away, and that's fine, but the problem with the dark buildings is still the same. Here is a screenshot I took flying at night, let me know if anyone has found a solution for the dark buildings.lga.jpg

V2 of what? Imagine Sim only has one update for KLGA, and I've added that, but that only helps on the approaches, not the scenery itself. I also have KMCI and San Juan Puerto Rico from Imagine Sim, and those came with full updates which helps work in FSX perfectly. I don't know why they neglected LaGuadia, being one of the most busy airports in the NYC metro area.

They call it v2. hehe http://www.imaginesim.com/klga01.htmIF YOU ALREADY OWN THE FSX VERSION OF KLGA LA GUARDIA AND WOULD LIKE KLGA V2 THEN YOU CAN GET THE UPGRADE ABSOLUTELY FREE BY CLICKING HERE (YOU WILL NEED YOUR ORIGINAL PURCHASING DETAILS AND INSTALLER KEY). THE FSX VERSION HAS BEEN DEVELOPED FOR AND TESTED WITH THE SP2/ACCELERATION UPDATE. FS2004 KLGA USERS DO NOT NEED ANY UPGRADE FOR THEIR AIRPORT. FSX KLGA USERS PURCHASING AFTER 01 MAY 2010 DO NOT NEED THE UPGRADE.

I had already downloaded and installed that file so call v2. It's just the one bgl filed called "KLGA_ADEX_ADE.bgl" That really doesn't fix the problem. The runway lights are fine, but the terminal buildings are dark. This is a different angle coming to land at runway 31.klga2.jpg

I had major problems with the LGA night lighting prior to the update (<1fps). I do not have the black buildings issue with v2. It works fine for me now.

I want to know what version 2 you are talking about? The only once that Imagine Sim came out with a version 2 is Nassau and Washington Dulles. All others have been patched like San Juan PR, Kansas City, and NY LaGuardia. The patch for KC and PR are just fine, it's just this stupid NY one that is a pain in the wrong side.:(

Mike, I already have the FSX version, and there is only 1 version, not version 2. Also, the only update they have done to it was the "bgl" file I mentioned before. The buildings are dark with or without that "bgl" file, as that update only affects the approach to LaGuadia, not the buildings.

Okay Jeff, I see it now. For some reason my eyes were drawn to the big green downloads, instead of that tiny green line within the paragraph. I didn't see it before, but I'm going to download v2 now, and see what gives. Hopefully my buildings will be lid up like they should at night.

Oh my God!!! what the heck is going on with Imagine Sim. I went ahead and downloaded a new fresh wrap for Imagine Sim KLGA and installed the FSX version. Then I downloaded and installed the v2 as per the website. Now not only are the buildings still dark at night, but in the day time they look like crap. They look more like default buildings that belong in FS9, no gates or anything. The only thing worth looking at is the runways, that's it!!! here is a day and night screenshot of what I mean, both taken on the same spot.2.jpg1-6.jpg

More like, what is going on with you and your computer... Relax, obviously it's not supposed to look like that. I'd remove every trace of the scenery and go back to default, how does that look, now do a clean install and check again. Then the update and check again.Do you have AES by any chance? Have you properly activated/deactivated KLGA. It is known to mess with jetways if there's a conflict somewhere.
