RussertDid you loose any frame rates with your set up with 2 GTX 580 cards? Posted 6 months ago any changes you would recommend? The world of multiple monitors is new to me but Ive got a system that should manage surround nvidia.Is it just a simple matter of going out and buying another card and setting it up.

Hi all and thanks for the informative discussion.

 

Hwever I am at a real loss here.

 

Ihave just put 2 GTX580 cards in the Asus P8Z77 V pro mobo

 

With 1 card installed I can get two monitors to work well with the vid card humming quietly.

 

Then I install the second card, connet the power and press the on button. The fans on the vid cards go flat out and I cannot get the third monitor to light up.

 

I have looked in nvidia control panel under 3d settings and can find NOTHING about SLI.

 

I have the SLI bridge (the floppy thread bit with the connectors on each end on the outer most two golden attachments (or should the bridge be on the inner most two?)

 

what is going on here??

 

I am about the chuck the lot!

Within FSX I can see two of the (3 monior) combined resolution... one, the full version and another after the bezel corrected resolution. Even if I pick the bezel corrected resolution within FSX, The bezel management does not work. There is nothing hiding behind the bezels.

 

Any idea what I could be doing wrong? I have their latest Beta version of the driver on my single 670 card

Rob, make sure the third monitor is recognised and activated by Windows before you go to the NV control panel.

To simplify things a bit do this before you put the SLI bridge on.

Manny are you running fullsceen or windowed?

I have the GTX670 as well and I find bezel management only works in fullscreen mode with FSX.

 

Anyone else confirm this?

I run both,... I didn't think it was working even with full screen. But now I need to double check this weekend. Hmmm...

Yes and no, you have the res if but not sure its right in windowed .

I fly fullscreen and not exprimenting so mutch in windowed.

Another post tweaked my interest so did some more testing.

 

Took the new card back to point of sale - they tested it - dead out of the box. :Shocked:

 

I now have two gtx580s humming nicely along in sli mode.. :good:

That's weird it does not work.

If you eventually get it working it will only be at your bezel management resolution, 5940 X 1200.

It will not work at 5760 X 1200 (three times native res).

OK. I got this working. See the numbers I posted. Those don't seem right..right? That was the issue. There is a slider of sorts whithin nvedia where you can adjust the resolution.. I don;t understant the purpose of that. It was not all the way up. So I maxed the resolution and then chose that resolution. The bezel management also works at the windows level too.

So, to bump an old thread, I'm currently using 3 1680x1050 monitors with softth and bezel management.

 

How do you set bezel management using SoftTh ?

and I have a GTX 560 not an ATI

 

I can get SoftTh working only in Landscape modes (2 monitors). Portrait would be nice tho, any hints there?
