April 27, 201214 yr Hello ! This is the way you can tag a silo in OpenStreetMap: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Silo But you have to create your own 3D object and map it in X-Plane. In OpenSceneryX, I only found fuel tanks: http://www.opensceneryx.com/objects/buildings/industrial/index.html Georges - OpenStreetMap - Ubuntu GNU/Linux -

April 27, 201214 yr I created the silos and saved them in openstreetmap but when I go to export it does not show up. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
April 27, 201214 yr Author It's not immediate, wait a few hours. You will also have to create a rule in osm2xp (objects tab), to tell it to add a openSceneryX object for a openStreetMap tag.

April 30, 201214 yr I don't think it takes a few hours, as I just created a few buildings and they have shown up immediately in openstreetmap. It takes some time before the information you add to OSM is available for exporting. While you might be able to see the data immediately on the map itself, they don't immediately update the exportable libraries. If you haven't yet, try using the tool now to see if what you added shows up.

May 1, 201214 yr You are right, it doesn´t show up on the map. A reason could be that the "tag" you used is not accepted as official for depiction on the map, yet. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Silo As far as I understand, you can use pretty much any tag you want for any polygon on the map. I could create a weird shape, and tag it with "X-Plane worshipping structures : major heap of awesomeness". It would show up on my edit - but never on the "official map", since that is not an "accepted" tag. So while some "types" of structures are used and will maybe sometime be included on the official map, I think that this one is not yet and will therefore not show up in the export file, either.

May 2, 201214 yr Hi, I just went and added the tag "building=yes" in OSM and now they all show up. I didn't download the OSM data and try it in Xplane, I don't have that scenery loaded. The silos do show at all zoom levels now in OSM. You may want to add a "height" tag to them. Hope this helps. May 3, 201214 yr Hi, ironmaiden. This is slightly off topic, but I saw your mention of the clouds. I'm in the same boat, and I can tell you it's because of something we appear to have in common: ATI video cards. It's a known issue that LR is trying to work out, but for right now, those of us using ATI cards are going to see a dramatic slowdown with clouds. :( Hopefully, something will be worked out soon. Then again, I am getting due for some hardware updates, so I might go nVidia.
