March 9, 201115 yr Okay, I've been searching and searching for a fix to my problem of going out of full view and back into the full screen mode and getting graphics corruption and ending up with a black screen with sound only. Now, bear with me here, I see so many different options and so called "fixes" for this problem, that I can't keep up with it all. So, if someone could politely point me into the correct fix (if there is one) for me to correct my black screen problem, it would be greatly appreciated. For the record, I know how to search and I have been doing this for the last 4 hours now and there seems (to me) to be so many opinions on what you should do to correct it. Thank you.Jason M. Brown
March 9, 201115 yr Jason, you forgot to describe the problem (is it your computer screen that is dark or the screens on the instruments? All instruments?) and the aircraft. Dan Downs KCRP

March 9, 201115 yr Author Jason, you forgot to describe the problem (is it your computer screen that is dark or the screens on the instruments? All instruments?) and the aircraft.I'm very sorry for not describing this. When using the model (PMDG 747x) when switching from full view to window view using the alt enter tab, I get a flickering screen in full mode and a full black in window and then after trying to go back to full I get a black screen as well. Its the computer screen itself.Jason Brownopen your FSX.cfg file, under [GRAPHICS], add the line HIGHMEMFIX=1.you can also run your FSX.cfg file through the utility found here: http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.htmlthat takes a lot of the PROVEN tweaks and inserts them into your cfg in a fairly balanced manner that gets FSX running smooth and stable.Note: should you opt to use the ENB mod, black screens will return and there is as of yet no solution. My video card is not listed, its an ATI Radeon HD 4800 series, not sure what the equal would be. Do I want to check the VSYNC as well?Jason Brown
March 9, 201115 yr My video card is not listed, its an ATI Radeon HD 4800 series, not sure what the equal would be. Do I want to check the VSYNC as well?I recommend VSync. There is a supposed performance hit using it, which is why he has that option there. As far as the card setting, I am to at all familiar with ATIs, but judging by your model number, I would suggest you try it with the GeForce 200 series. You can give the 400 Series (low-end) a try and if it is too aggresive, you can always switch back. I recommend you backup your .cfg first before doing anything.Bojote's tool adds a bunch of tweaks in there that you are going to want, including Highmemfix, Affinity Core, texturemaxload, and a number of others that will get FSX running more efficiently with the newer hardware of today. March 10, 201115 yr Please see my post and instructions in this forum to see if it helps. It really helped me and one other person so far. Please let me know if it helps you as well.http://forum.avsim.n...ost__p__1918422 Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
March 11, 201115 yr Yea, I'm thinking about dumping the card for a GTX 470.If you are thinking of Nvidia GTX470, go with a GTX460. I think you will find that it is a better card and i believe a little cheaper. I have 2 of them (gtx460, 1024mb) in my machine and they perform very well. Rick Hobbs
