Big Propliner

Recommended Posts

HI guys, I´m searching for a propliner for FSX. It should have a nicely modeled VC and 2 or 4 propeller engines and it should be freeware cause I´m saving money for a system upgrade. I hope someone has an idea.

That too bad, because the A2A 377 Stratocruiser with Accusim is absolutely awesome.

There's some freeware out there... check flightsim.com too..You're not going to find high quality VC's for free these days. Only a few free devs have made FSX native planes anyway :)PAD might be the planes you're looking forhttp://www.premaircraft.com/AC_MENU/index.htmlObviously you're not going to get PMDG/A2A quality for free here but they should work.

Yeah, I know him. I flew his superb DC-4 some weeks ago. Incedible work. I thought that some other can also du such great work on propliners.

It´s really bad, this would be my first buy if I had some money.

There is an Electra around somewhere. I think it's available on simviation. It's nicely modelled and the graphics are quite goodI am not a huge fan of freeware as it lacks that complexity that you usually find it payware. But it is very goodTom

I'll second CalClassic. Go to the site and check out the Constellation "Connie". I love this plane, it's as nice as payware, nice VC.I'll second the Lockheed Electra also. It's by Team KBT and also awesome VC, this one even has the passenger cabin modelled. These 2 are just about my 2 favorite planes in FSX.

Wow, I knew this site before but I dind´t know that the Constallation is also usable in FSX. This are great news, downloading right away. ThanksBTw. I´ve downloadad the Electra yesterday but she turned out to be a framerate hog in PNW (where I mostly fly), so she is currently unusable. I hope this will change after my system upgrade.

I don't have any issues with the Electra, it runs very smooth on my rig. I usually fly around Alaska in the Reeve Aleutian livery. The Constellation works great in FSX. Do some searching there is a file that improves the VC textures and you can choose either green or grey. There are two separate downloads for the 749 and Super connie. You can download lot's of repaints for it also. Here's something you can add to your config file to get different wing views:you can just add these below you're last livery in the aircraft.cfg (after the [flightsim.4] lines for example. These will add wing views like you're looking out the window when you cycle through your views or hit the A key from the VC. This is for the 749 if you use it in the super connie just change the -9.7 value higher or lower till your over the wing (it moves the view forward and backward) You can actually add these lines to any aircraft but might have to change some of the numbers on the bottom to lines to get them lined up right. Here's a few pics of some of the views this will give you.[CameraDefinition.001]Title = Passenger View RIGHTGuid = {CB6D32DA-CB0A-46D8-8CC1-6CABA9298297}Origin = Virtual CockpitMomentumEffect = YesSnapPbhAdjust = SWIVELSnapPbhReturn = FalsePanPbhAdjust = SWIVELPanPbhReturn = FalseTrack = NoneShowAxis = YESAllowZoom = TRUEInitialZoom = 0.4SmoothZoomTime = 2.0ZoomPanScalar = 1.0ShowWeather = YesXyzAdjust = TRUEShowLensFlare=FALSECategory = CockpitPitchPanRate=20HeadingPanRate=60InitialXyz=1, 0.10, -9.7InitialPbh=0, 0, 69[CameraDefinition.002]Title = Passenger View LeftGuid = {CB7D32DA-CB0A-46D8-8CC1-6CABA9298297}Origin = Virtual CockpitMomentumEffect = YesSnapPbhAdjust = SWIVELSnapPbhReturn = FalsePanPbhAdjust = SWIVELPanPbhReturn = FalseTrack = NoneShowAxis = YESAllowZoom = TRUEInitialZoom = 0.4SmoothZoomTime = 2.0ZoomPanScalar = 1.0ShowWeather = YesXyzAdjust = TRUEShowLensFlare=FALSECategory = CockpitPitchPanRate=20HeadingPanRate=60InitialXyz=0, 0.10, -9.7InitialPbh=0, 0, 280[CameraDefinition.003]Title = Engine View LeftGuid = {B12C0DA4-E4E9-4F96-9840-6D04784B059D}Origin = Virtual CockpitMomentumEffect = YesSnapPbhAdjust = falseSnapPbhReturn = FalsePanPbhAdjust = falsePanPbhReturn = FalseTrack = NoneShowAxis = YESAllowZoom = TRUEInitialZoom = 0.6SmoothZoomTime = 2.0ZoomPanScalar = 1.0ShowWeather = YesXyzAdjust = TRUEShowLensFlare=FALSECategory = CockpitPitchPanRate=20HeadingPanRate=60InitialXyz=-1.5, 0, 0InitialPbh=15, 0, 215[CameraDefinition.004]Title = Engine View RightGuid = {B11C0DA4-E4E9-4F96-9840-6D04784B059D}Origin = Virtual CockpitMomentumEffect = YesSnapPbhAdjust = falseSnapPbhReturn = FalsePanPbhAdjust = falsePanPbhReturn = FalseTrack = NoneShowAxis = YESAllowZoom = TRUEInitialZoom = 0.6SmoothZoomTime = 2.0ZoomPanScalar = 1.0ShowWeather = YesXyzAdjust = TRUEShowLensFlare=FALSECategory = CockpitPitchPanRate=20HeadingPanRate=60InitialXyz=2.5, 0, 0InitialPbh=15, 0, 145[CameraDefinition.005]Title = "Left Side Window"Guid = {0ae3f864-da10-4e5a-977c-b9bba47d6f7a}Description = View of the left wing from the passenger cabinOrigin = CenterSnapPbhAdjust = NoneSnapPbhReturn = FALSEPanPbhAdjust = SwivelPanPbhReturn = FALSETrack = NoneShowAxis = FALSEAllowZoom = TRUEInitialZoom = 0.4ShowWeather = YesInitialXyz = -0.5, 1.5, 0.5InitialPbh = 20, 0, 280XyzAdjust = FALSECategory=AircraftMomentumEffect=TRUEClipMode=Minimum[CameraDefinition.006]Title = "Engines 1 and 2"Guid = {96873AAD-621B-4C45-8A58-DEF7B7FCB059}Description = Engines 1 and 2Origin = CenterSnapPbhAdjust = SwivelSnapPbhReturn = FALSEPanPbhAdjust = SwivelPanPbhReturn = FALSETrack = NoneShowAxis = FALSEAllowZoom = FALSEInitialZoom = .40ShowWeather = YesInitialXyz = -1.8, -0.5, 7InitialPbh = -1.0, 0, 220XyzAdjust = FALSECategory=AircraftMomentumEffect=TRUEClipMode=Minimum[CameraDefinition.007]Title = "Engines 3 and 4"Guid = {96873AAD-621B-4C45-8A58-DEF7B7FCB060}Description = Engines 3 and 4Origin = CenterSnapPbhAdjust = SwivelSnapPbhReturn = FALSEPanPbhAdjust = SwivelPanPbhReturn = FALSETrack = NoneShowAxis = FALSEAllowZoom = FALSEInitialZoom = .40ShowWeather = YesInitialXyz = 1.8, -0.5, 7InitialPbh = -1.0, 0, 140XyzAdjust = FALSECategory=AircraftMomentumEffect=TRUEClipMode=Minimum
