Hello Gents,I fly mainly in North America and I know this is the poor man's approach, but is there any program that provides some overall improvement to FSX scenery? If I have to buy several different programs in order to enjoy the FSX scenery world, it will be a little tough on my pocketbook!! However I'm open to any scenery programs that folks have been impressed with. Thanks,Grandpa

Hi Grandpa, If you want a few things to improve the overall look of the US there are 3 products to consider.1. Ground Environment X North America - Replaces the ground textures for all of North America and are much better looking than the default ground textures. http://gex.flight1.net/Gex_UsCan/index.htmhttp://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=gexusacan2. Ultimate Terrain X USA - This adds more accurate roads/highways/freeways, rivers, streams, water bodies (small, med, large lakes), better looking and more accurate coast lines, as well as better landclass data which defines where what textures FSX uses for cities, farmland, desert, forrest, wetland, etc. http://www.scenerysolutions.com/ut_fsx_usa.htmlhttp://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=utxusa3. Last option would be to cover the the US in photoreal scenery provided by Sim-Saavy. The only drawback to the using the Sim-Saavy solution is that it doesn't include seasonal textures, night textures, or autogen. However, if you only fly in the day and dont care about autogen then that may be a good option for you. It ships on an external hard drive for you to use considering the extreme size of the files it takes to cover the US.http://www.sim-savvy.com/Personally, I prefer to use Ultimate Terrain and Ground Environment North America since I like to fly at night, prefer to have all 4 seasons depticted in the sim, and like autogen. I would consider those 2 products must haves for not only FSX but also the equalivant products for FS9 as well if you still use that sim as well.Hope this helps.Regards

The one and only scenery addon that provides better airports, better and more realistic scenery - is OrbX's Pacific North-West, from south of Portland all the way to just north of Vancouver in a single package. At $40 Canadian it is by far the best bang for the buck. All airport/airfields have been upgraded, and there are now 6 airports that are in high detail (separate purchases), with Portland PDX and Seattle SEA on the way. They also produce a number of freebees, such as Vachon airfield on the next island west of Seattle, and the whole city of Portland. The Northern Rockies, and Alaska are also available, with the Southern Rockies and Socal on the way. OrbX Pacific North-West is $40 Can.:.... http://fullterrain.com/product_nablue.html Ground Environment X North America is U$35:.... http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=gexusacanUltimate Terrain for USA is U$34.95:.... http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=utxusaUltimate Terrain for Canada is U$34.95 http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=utxcan

I'm surprised that I forgot to mention the ORBX PNW as well since I own it, lol.I would agree with Paul as well that the PNW package is a good deal as well, but the only downside is that it only works for the Oregon, Washington, and Vancouver area. If you want to fly to the rest of the US outside of the that coverage area then it wont offer you any benefit. If can live with only flying in that part of the US, then its by far the best deal around.Like Paul mentioned they do offer a few other packages as well like the Pacific Fjords and a Northern Rocky Mountain package that covers part of Idaho, Montana, and Canada, plus more packages in the works.

Is this one of you guys?As an old man was driving, his phone rang. Answering, he heard his wife's voice urgently warning him, "Dear, I just heard on the news that there's a car going the wrong way on the highway. Please be careful!" "Heck," said the husband, "It's not just one car. It's hundreds of them!"Best regards.Luis
