April 12, 201115 yr Sully didn't even say anything overtly political in that interview - he actually dodged the question when Maher asked about any broader context.I'm gonna lock this thread if it just turns into political crap - there's a bazillion other forums on the internet where you can have that debate.Easy Ryan...As I mentioned earlier, I'm not here to get my spurs tangled with you or anyone else. Plus, political debates bore me... because I always win! :LMAO:Cheers!Bud Buddy Morgan Specs removed by Admin. See AVSIM Signature policy in Hangar Chat

April 12, 201115 yr One of the early interviews with him was talking about how the airline (on which I am a Chairman's member of the FF system, btw), took out the quick reference tabs in the POH, so his co-pilot was literally flipping through the manual looking for the right emergency checklist: "Fire....nope. Depressuration....nope. Crash...nope. Ditching.... Here it is. Oh wait we're already floating" ** not actual quote. Doug Orvis PP-ASEL-IA (USA), Based at KHEF Picture courtesy of Kyle Rodgers
April 12, 201115 yr Author They work long hours, don't get to see their families that often, spend tons of hours of studying and training, and this is how they're repaid? Terrible how they treat pilots nowadays. Emil Bjornholt - Norway - ENGM ~ Ultimate guide to the best FSX Addons on the market ( 2014 ) ~ www.fsxgetstarted.com/

April 12, 201115 yr Buddy, I'm not a native Texan, but I was told when I moved here that it was required to give Oklahomans a bad time whenever possible. It's a pre-req for sure... But, I must point out that Oklahoma is "above" Texas... Now I need to go clean my teepee and water the herd.Cheers! Buddy Morgan Specs removed by Admin. See AVSIM Signature policy in Hangar Chat

April 15, 201115 yr I agree 100%Like he stated, she could've had another job, where she was making more money. We all know that aviation is a costly adventure, and if you want to succeed in it, you have to WORK your way to the top...a stressful job with many sleepless nights and low wages are just ways to get there...or you can join the military, who pays for it, but is even more stressful then civilian flying. Either way, to get to be a major airline pilot, it is gonna take hard work and dedication. Period.I hate when people blame the Colgan Accident on low wages...because it isn't. It was the pilots' inablitiy to keep SA and know what is going on around them...and also the Capt. who "pulled up" in a stall, which is a huge mistake that nobody (with proper training) should make.Sure, I will admit they didn't make much, and didn't get much sleep, and were pressured at their jobs. But really, thats not the cause of the accident. The cause was pilot error.Sorry to say but what you're saying indicates a fundamental lack of understanding regarding safety.Yes the pilots screwed up but simply blaming them is idiotic; the reasons why they did so are far more important. As with an accident caused by mechanical failure, it isn't enough to determine what went wrong; you must find the cause and stop it from happening again. As a significant number of accidents are caused by pilot error, so stressing pilots and paying them peanuts it's a very good way to prevent accidents.
