May 23, 201115 yr Hi folks,I gotten inspiration from a recent trip and made 3 short FSX videos over the space of 3 days (there goes my weekend). I also took a small selection of shots from each video which is shown below including a link to the video itself if you fancy watching it (videos are best watched at 720p or 1080p full screen). As always, enjoy the view:757 Landing at CairnsThe video associated with the above shots can be viewed here Super 80sThe video associated with the above shots can be viewed here Busy Airports: GatwickThe video associated with the above shots can be viewed here Well, I do hope you enjoyed both the screen shots & the videos, please do not hesitate to leave a comment either here or on the youtube page. Thanks for your time.

May 23, 201115 yr They look almost real, especially the second one. How do you do this? Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
May 24, 201115 yr This was very likely recorded at half or third speed than speeded up, right? Nevertheless graphics are awesome.Oh btw. Soya... you said you are runing LOD 9.5. I would, performancewise, be able to run that. But I had sim crashes with even 7.5, so I have really no idea how you are managing to run 9.5 stable. You are using REX and UT2, right?

May 26, 201115 yr Author Thank you all for your kind words, they are most welcome. Making videos sure is much more challenging and time consuming then taking a few screen shots but I like the challenge and if there are others that enjoy my work, then it is worth it. They look almost real, especially the second one. How do you do this?Thank you kindly, as for how I did this, mostly down to all the people who make these excellent addons for our sims, whether it is freeware or payware. I am just a tourist with a camera in my world of sim, with practice and experience, I have gotten better over time in producing captivating and interesting screen shots. However, my screen shots would not have the impact without the skill of the people who make aircraft models, repaints, scenery, 3d models, textures etc. My appreciation goes out to them for making our sims more realistic. This was very likely recorded at half or third speed than speeded up, right? Settings were at 1920x1080, single pass encode at 90% quality. My sim tends to run smoothly most of the time, although I do not use FSX bloom on the ground as that really does make my frames stutter, especially at busy airports. For flights above photoreal scenery, like in the Super 80s video, I always set LOD to 9.5, I have had no crashes with that setting but I do have much longer loading times as I presume it has to preload more texture data. I am indeed using REX 2.0 overdrive but not UT2 (I presume you mean Ultimate Traffic 2?), I do use Traffic X but especially in the Gatwick video I often setup custom AI traffic using a combination of AirtrafficFX, Mudpond's Formation Tool & FSrecorder.

I would very much like to inspect your machine from ground up LOL...Sorry, I ment UTX, not UT2.
May 29, 201115 yr Author Nebojsa, thank you.Word Not Allowed, in that case no, I do not use UTX. I prefer using photoreal scenery like Blue Sky Scenery, NL2000v4, VFR Germany & Switzerland and I also have FTX Australia. As for the real time rendering, if you check out one of the latest FSrecorder releases on their website, you will see more information on the real time video rendering option, btw when the video rendering option is running the sim does not continue to run at its previous FPS of course, it is simply too much data for the CPU to process, but you do end up with a smooth video. Unlike fraps, which simply causes way too many stutters during recording as it dumps uncompressed video data to hard drive which causes a I/O bottleneck, so hence the stutters with fraps recording.
