Missing the clipboard at the yoke, and some more questions

Featured Replies

Hello,First of all, many thanks for uploading some new screenshots of the lovely 737NGX. Got some new energy for now to study math after making a 3 houres chemistry exam. Looking forward to the video! =)My questions are- Where is the clipboard with the checklist? It's blank now, just black. It gives some more detail to add the checklist decals at the clipboard. (see attachment)- Are we able to put some charts and papers at the clipboard just for eye-pleasure and realism.- If we are able to choose for a dirty cockpit with bread crumbs, how about not to forget some beer.. euh I mean a bottle water in the cockpit next to a seat. Just to blow some more life into the cockpit.- When opening the windows, do we notice some wind and/or notice the environment sounds noisier such as the engine sounds?- How about the roll-out sounds and take-off ground sound? I asked Armin but we are already 2 (?) weeks next. We missed some pounding sounds and more realism.- Does the NGX has Engine Blur effects?Regards,Steven

Perhaps the option to clip a PFD page with the STAR /SID onto the clipboard so we can change it for different flights.

Yes, there already exists something like that, that you get a new window with a .pdf. Would be awesome if PMDG can get that modelled into a "paper-format" at the clipboard at the yoke and at the window-side.

Do you really want this to be added now!!??
Well, I'm printing the .pdf's but still ... will be pretty cool to see some charts/paperwork at the clipboard.

I've just thought of a new feature for the next version of EFB if this PDF idea was possible :)

Cheers, Andy.

1. That yoke checklist was not there on the primary aircraft we photo-surveyed. This is not something that is required or present on every aircraft. If you look on airliners.net they're all different anyway too - this is something an airline adds themselves if they want it. There's numerous photos on the first page of 800 cockpit photos of planes that don't have it.2. This would be rather involved for the user - you'd have to make a .dds texture file of each chart you wanted prior to the flight. There's no way to display a PDF file as a texture in the sim. Don't think we're gonna do this.3. No, there's not.4. The window animations were removed due to the hard animation limit in FSX. We'd have no HGS, 3D gauges, or 3D landing lights if we didn't do this - we sided with functions that actually improve the operation of the airplane. Opening a window looks cool, but it's not something you do other than on the ground, and even then it's not all that common to see.5. Those will be there.6. No, it's not possible to do this realistically in FSX. Anything .fx based looks fake because it can't actually refract the light.

Wow, I can't even imagine all the other functions that will be there if the limit doesn't even include opening the window...Applause.gifAnd as for not common, I open the window all the time once the day is nice, it's nice to let a bit of fresh, more humid air through the cockpit although at some points it can get MIGHTY noisy, especially if there is other traffic around us, so the windows are closed, but most summer days on the taxi in or if we're on a quiet area of the ramp I'll have the window open...

There's essentially not a single gauge knob or switch in the VC that isn't modeled in 3D - this is what adds so much to how real it looks and how smooth all the animations analog gauges and stuff are.
