June 4, 201115 yr OK guys, here is a question for you all about a pic MS posted.QUESTION: If you had to take a guess about this airport would you say that this airport depicted in this pic is a Flight's default airport or is this airport from a developer?Lets hear it....
June 4, 201115 yr I think its the third option which you haven't mentioned. An enhanced airport which will come as default with flight. There were a few detailed airports in FSX.

June 4, 201115 yr Author I think its the third option which you haven't mentioned. An enhanced airport which will come as default with flight. There were a few detailed airports in FSX.OK fair enough, so will Hawaii be an enhanced part of Flight which will also come as default? Look to me like there will be a few detailed island. You can't have it both way so what is it?
June 4, 201115 yr Well, this airport will either come as one of the enhanced airports with Flight ORit will be a DLC, but imho it will be an MS product, not a 3rd party developer's.What if MS has seen the light and likes the idea of add-on products. MS could easily kill off some of the smaller developers by offering scenery DLCs themselves.MS as a company has been killing off competition every which way it could ever since it started, including illegally, so taking a current add-on and improving it beyond recognition is well within the realm of possibility.Looking at the general update to various textures in the released screenshots, there is clearly far less need for products that offered texture updates. After all, there is a limit to our hardware and what actually looks better.

Possible court cases not withstanding of course!Bryan.
June 4, 201115 yr I think its one of the enhanced airports (developed by Microsoft) that will come with Flight. Looks very nice!I hope the "normal" (non enhanced) default airports merge better with the scenery, in FSX they really stick out. Maybe Flight will soften/blend the edges around airports a little better. Matthew S
June 5, 201115 yr I know it may sound crazy, but I'm not so sure it's necessarily that "enhanced" over other default airports. Those buildings look like generic models that could be standardly placed by AFCAD at any airport and we know from other photos of two other smaller airports that the runway and taxiway textures are now standard. We also know based on the other smaller airport pictures that the smoothing of textures around airports into the city appears to be standard now. While I think it is one of the enhanced airports like in FSX, I think it's proof of much greater detail at default airports as well. Even in the enhanced airports in FSX they still used generic runway/taxiway textures and surrounding buildings. It now appears these textures/hangers/etc. are standard textures and model sets now and there is no reason they won't be assigned to every airport in the game just like the older FSX textures were the same at every airport. Very exciting.
June 5, 201115 yr Commercial Member I doubt that any scenery we are seeing was done by a third party. It's likely all done by yhe Flight team. Hawaii might be the demo location in Flight just as St. Maarten was the location for FSX's demo. Therefor, it will be a high detail location. Brandon Filer
