July 27, 201114 yr Hi,This is my first post on AVSIM so this might sound a bit dum.I have been following all the ups and downs of the 737NGX developments and seen the videos and now I an convinced that I want to buy (not that I needed much convincing), but I have a question with regards to re-installing the aircraft. As with all PC's sometimes things go wrong such as software conflicts and hardware faliures. I know PMDG will have security on the software to stop the little oinks so called pirates which is fair enough, but what happens once I purchased the PMDG 737NGX, activate it and then later on have problems where I have to reinstall FSX. Can I use the same activation code or do I need to reactivate from PMDG? Is there a cost to do this or do you get a few attempts for free?PS. A message to PMDG, I have seen a lot of angry messages over the forum from people who can't wait for release, which is partly understandable considering the quality of the aircraft, but I myself think that you a perfectly correct win waiting until you are 100% happy with the final release. I only wish more companys had the pride to wait instead of rushing out software that is a half hearted attempt. I am happy to wait until you are ready to release it in the knowledge that it won't be the 737ngx that takes down my system. Thanks for the help.
July 27, 201114 yr PMDG never charges additional costs for reactivation, support, updates etc. The only situation is if your download link expire and you loose you installer, then you need to purchase extended download service, that's allRegards,
July 27, 201114 yr No need to either make a back up on a cd or make up a back up on a external drive as i have done on my whole system so if my hard disk crashes or anything like that all need to do is to reinstall again no dramas at all well maybe a new cost replacing the frag hard drive I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
July 27, 201114 yr That's great to know. So I can reinstall it as many times as I like without worry, as long as I download it within the allocated time and keep the installer safe. Is this the same if I change my hardware or is it hardware dependant?Regards
July 27, 201114 yr Changes in hardware may trigger the protection system, in such case all you need to do is submit ticket to PMDG, explain situation and product will be reactivated. But don't worry, minor changes wont cause any problems. This system works quite well
July 27, 201114 yr Great. Thanks for all the help.Great product, great price, fantstic support, what more could you ask for.

I plan to purchase the NGX when it comes out by August 4, but I would like to download the files from PMDG in early September only. Would that be a problem? Thanks Edmundo Azevedo
July 27, 201114 yr Sorry but I have no idea. I always download my purchased files instantly and back them up.Regards,
July 27, 201114 yr I`ve purchased downloads from all sorts of sources, including PMDG, and never a major problem. From Flight 1 I had to get my licence reset, no problem and very quick. JustFlight had a hacking problem once and the servers went down once, when they were back up all returned to normal and full notices were issued throughout. They now changed their policies so that its easier for the end user to reinstall and not have any hassles in situations like this. Finally, with PMDG I got the 747 and the J4100 by download. My licence ran out, replies to my emails were polite and explained the problem in full. I installed on 6 computers (one at a time in use) inside 2 years or so. Not a problem, got a personal email in reply and the install was reset with no fuss whatsoever. My method on purchasing a download. Before I go off and play I make a folder with the name of the aircraft. Into which I place a copy of the downloaded file AND any emails I recieve, the latter I do in a text file and call them Email 1, Email 2 etc. As time goes on any updates and further emails go straight into this folder. I then place the folder in a main folder called "Archive" on my external drive, this has a sub folder called "Flight Sim" and a further sub folder called "Payware Aircraft". Never a problem that cannot be fixed and complete confidence in downloads from reputable companies. I then install from the version on the desktop only and leave that there a few days before deleting as I have an archive version and can contact PMDG or whoever if that proves buggy.I offer this post, that does go around the houses a little, so that you have an idea of how to protect your investment and get the same feeling of security in making your purchases. To me its as good as buying a boxed product but takes up less space. Have confidence, done properly and sensibly you have no worries.Steve Brooks

October 5, 201114 yr Hello! I was wondering if this would also apply to a boxed 747-400 Queen of the Skies. I used it once on a old windows computer, and it did not work out so well. I am wondering if I will be able to re-install this plane on another computer that works better or if I will have to go out and buy another one. Thank You!!
