Will the NGX include an EzDok profile?

Featured Replies

I'm a long time user of TrackIR (I still have v3blush.png ) and bought EZDok yesterday. A careful read of the manuals and I was up and running in 20mins as well. Indeed the videos are very helpful as well and they give a gem of a piece of advice - you don't need to fiddle with all the internals. The developer has put those settings there for a reason, all you need to do is tweak the global settings of each effect. I'll admit I'm still tweaking but a couple of more flights and I should be there (for the MD anyway). Make sure you update to 1.17 as this gives you the option to cycle through the cameras with the push of a (configurable) button. At one point I thought I was going to have to find a button for every view (I don't have have that many on my Saitek yoke) or run in windowed mode mad.gif In summary, a lovely little program that with a bit of care and attention you'll soon get to grips with.

Best Regards,

Dan Parkin.

Don't spend to much time into the EZDok files for your airplanes, the new 2.0 Version comes out at October and the bad news - the DataBase 1.5 / 1.7 is not compatible with new 2.0 !I make only 2-3 Views, when install a new aircraft and wait for the new 2.0. Think we must uninstall the old 1.17 and install the new V2.0, without any imports of old EZDok files.

All I do is load a default plane and copy the profile and name it something like pmdg 747 then load up the pmdg 747 and import the profile, all the camera shakes and turbulence stuff is already set all I have to do is tweak the camera views which is easy to do. Just a note for heavy style AC like the pmdg 747 md 11 I use the msfs 747 for mid size ac I use the msfs 737 and for light ac like the duke I use msfs king air or cessna, just load a msfs plane copy the profile and apply it to your payware and adjust the camera views, its pretty simple once you understand what Im talking about, its hard to explain.

Has anyone had a problem where the .cfg's are read only in the NGX?

Yup, it's in the issues thread at the top of the forum. You can just un-tick the read-only option in each of the .cfg properties menu. Craig Baillie

On the subject of the EZdok profile for the NGX, when I first loaded the a/c last night I was surprised to see how well the default 737 EZdok profile was set up. All I needed to do was assign some joystick buttons for the views I normally use (Pilot POV, overhead, radios), adjust the zoom for each one, and I was off. Pretty easy and took less than 10 minutes. Now I just need to adjust the Z-axis a little so my head doesn't drop so much to the left and right when I taxi, but overall the default 737 profile in the NGX works pretty well, Sean Campbell

I agree AJ (yes...I know who you are wink.png ) - I like to think that I'm fairly intelligent, but when it comes to EZDok, I feel like a dunce. It seems like there are no explanations in the doco. All I see are great videos from people using EZDok, but I have no idea how they actually got to that point. Anyone know of a good tutorial? Sorry for the dunce post.... Thanks!
When you start EZDok it's load the default FSX 737-800 profil (both fsx and pmdg has the same title in aircraft.cfg), change the views a little and you are ready, needs no more as 5 min. !!If you will fly the default 737 again (who does??), rename the default 737 to e.g. F737-800 in the aircraft.cfg
