FSX Gold includes FSX Acceleration, and Acceleration includes all the updates from SP2.
Thanks a lot Vin! rolleyes.gif / Leffe
Hi Lief, That sounds like an AWESOME system spec, however, as someone pointed out, much of the power of the system will go to waste as the FSX engine isn't optimised, as far as I know. If I could have provided you with a bit of advise prior to purchasing, I would have said to ditch the MSI board and go with ASUS, although MSI isn't bad, just personal preference really. The EVGA GFX card is awesome. I also would not have gone with so much RAM, 8GB would have been just fine, but then I would have gone for the lowest possible CAS timing, 6 or 7. The Corsair PSU's are really good, I have one although not the same model. I do however also have a 1TB WB Black HDD. They are really great with thier 32MB cache, makes a difference. Oh, and I probably would have gone for the Intel Core i5 2500K as far as value for money. It's cheaper than the i7 and can run just as fast if you overclock. FSX will run very well on this CPU. Other than that, great system mate!
Thanks Steve!I understand that I should have saved some bucks, only having 8GB of memory, but done is done unfortunally Also that system I decided to choose, didn´t gave me so much room to change hardware myself. It was only, Tower, Motherboards, RAM, HD, PSU, and Graphic Card I could change. Unfortunally, there where no ASUS to choose, only Gigabyte. Also there were only i7 2600K. (But having a K will be easier to OC) I could choose another Rig, but then again there where some other things I couldn´t change. (Guess they do so to earn some bucks) Thx for your answer btw. Much appreciated. rolleyes.gif Now I know at least I will have a rather good system for FSX and NGX. / Leffe

You're For sure Not the only one who bought a new pc for the NGX.I myself went to a store, which is in my opinion quite personal and not expensive at all and asked for an upgrade. Unfortunately my pc is quite old..so the only chance to upgrade is By changing quite everything.I decided to go with an i5 2500k and a GTX 460. Not sure which mainboard im going to have.. Hopefully it's Not that important. All in all I Want to stay under 1000€..should work i guess.I wish good luck with your new pc, have fun and enjoy NGX!Jan Reineke

Here is the link for the uiautomationcore.dll fix http://forums.vatsim...hp?f=43&t=55716 All you need to do is drop the .dll into your system32 folder and then use copy and paste for the commands into the CMD.exe window. I would also drop a copy of uiautomationcore.dll into FSX as it wont hurt. Dont forget to open the CMD.exe program as admin. AS far as I can tell this .dll is one of the most common reasons for FSX crashing. Since doing what it says in the link my FSX is utterly stable, its never crashed once in the last month, and ive been using it alot hehe.

If you just drop it into your FSX folder it should use that one regardless of what's in the System32 folder. With HijackThis you can check and see which DLLs programs are using. That's how I did it at least.

What haven't I done, Of course It's on.. This problem seems to go away only when ENB is disabled. Are there new versions or what?
That will explain the black screen. I have a top notch FSX hardware/software setup, and years of experience tweaking and setting up FSX just right, like NickN's setup guide for FSX/OS, and using Bojote's online CFG tool for the final touches. I have the dreaded black screen or CTD when I have ENBseries mod enabled, which only crashes when I switch between full and windowed mode, even if the mod is disabled by the shift-f12 key at the time of switch.See my signature for specs, but I will say that on my previous system with winXP 64bit, ENB worked just fine. It's only after I installed windows7 64bit that I encountered the mode change ctd/blackscreen issue. Some have the same system and claim they don't have the issue, but I've seen plenty of reports of people with systems similar to mine (namely windows7 or vista 64) having the same crashes with ENB. I have tried all kinds of tests, new settings, different d3d9.dlls, even different versions of the uiautomation.dll, and I cannot rid myself of this nasty bug. I have given up on ENB for good, and if you are having crashes only with ENB, you may want to cut your losses and do the same. The only hope is if someone releases a new version, that plays nicely with the other hacks us FSX users have to use like the highmemfix, etc.

Those components cost $2000 in newegg. $3400 for that seems a bit too much doesn't it?a 2500K with 8GB of RAM and Win 7 Home Premium would do

Your specifications aren't exactly mine but the issue is spot on. It's annoying as hell I know, welcome to the club. I've grown attached to ENB however, and my FSX looks like a cartoon with it disabled. That, along with the fact that neither autogen nor water details are needed when flying airliners sorta balances it out, because this nasty bug doesn't occur on default / FPS friendly addons.

Yes some 900$, but the HD SSD and the Grapich Card are pretty expensive, besides the i7 2600K.I could have choosen one without the SSD and also another Card, but I guess I would have regret that later. / Leffe
