August 5, 201114 yr Youe need to select (click on to high-light) one of the four options under "Installed Aircraft Variants" for the "Select Livery Button" to work... please try that and post back. Thank's Blitzer that worked! Best regardsG. Kollmann
August 6, 201114 yr Blitzer.........I'm never too proud to admit that I made a mistake (well, almost never). I tried your solution and it worked. Very simple at that. I only tried one livery but it looks as if your solution will work for all the liveries. Great looking AA livery. I'll try more tomorrow. Thanks for your work on this. Jack Fentress

Jack Fentress Jack, Hey no problem I'm a bit tetchy ATM, been having a stressful time of it workwise lately so on a similar note I hope my response did not come across abrubtly.Good to hear this has work for you as well, hopefully PMDG will fix the problems with the manager in due course anyway. Having read a few other posts concerning the Livery Manager I have a feeling that as soon as you try to add more liveries that it will again wipe out those that already exist. If this happens I would be inclined to then manually delete the texture folders and then re-install all the required liveries over again (including the new ones you want to add) by using the method I posted. A bit of a faff, but I believe it's a workable solution without having to manually add the aircraft entries to the aircraft.cfg file. Paul Lathwell
August 6, 201114 yr Blitzer........No, your responses were just fine. I had been "fiddling" with the aircraft and all that goes with it for about 5 hours and I was also "weary". It's a"######" getting old.I've downloaded and installed 8/800 liveries and 3 /900 liveries. Your solution makes it very easy to do and as far as I can see, foolproof. They all continue to show up each time I restart FSX. They really look outstanding. So.........I'm not having the problem of " disappearing" liveries. My only real disappointment with this aircraft regards the 2D Panel. I'm not particularly fond of VC flying. I've found the 3 click spots for upper panels etc, but there seems to no click spot for the FMS - at least if it's there I can't find it. I understand about the throttle panel but hope that it will show up at some point in the future. The current layout makes flying in 2D fairly inconvenient. I thought that when they said a 2D panel would be provided it would be complete other wise I might have decided to take a pass. I'm thinking this might be the last aircraft that PMDG makes with a 2D panel considering all the work they put in to the VC. Jack Jack Jack
August 6, 201114 yr Hi Blitzer, that worked for me, thankyou. One other thing, when I right clicked on the files after extracting them, Win 7 had them blocked so they needed to be unblocked. Chris Stumbles
August 6, 201114 yr I'm also having problems adding more than one livery for the -800WL variant. When I select more than one livery, they will be added without an error message, but when finished, the list of installed liveries is empty (except for the PMDG livery). The texture subdirectories of the installed liveries are present in the PMDG 737-800NGX WL folder, but when I open the aircraft.cfg file there is only one new entry in it [fltsim.2] which contains the last livery installed. [fltsim.1] is missing. This only happens with the -800WL, with other variants it works fine. I tried Blitzers instructions, but it makes no difference. It also doesn't work properly when trying to add the new liveries one by one. The first one installs ok and appears in the list, when I add a second one, the first one disappears from the list and thats it. Otherwise a fantastic product, I'm really happy with it. August 6, 201114 yr Rainer, I think my "solution" only really works if you use the CTRL key to select multiple .ptp livery files and install them in one go. I would try deleting any addition texture files from the 800WL folder, create a folder with all the .ptp files you want to install for that variant and then use the livery manager to add ALL of the paints you want in one hit. It might be best also to restore the backup aircraft.cfg first or at least edit the current one so it only has the first and default PMDG texture referenced. HTH. Paul Lathwell
August 6, 201114 yr Hi Blitzer, I restored the original aircraft.cfg from the aircraft.cfg_old file, deleted all texture.xx dirs and the .ini files mentioned in the introduction. In my case it has nothing to do with the method of selection. I tried both, CTRL and SHIFT. The problem exists even if I try to add liveries one by one. (Read my post again, please.) and, as already mentioned it fails only for the -800WL variant.Thank you for your help. Rainer Oberst Rainero
August 7, 201114 yr It's too bad installation problems with the texture of the livery manager, I hope that PMDG will correct this because many can not install texture
August 7, 201114 yr It's too bad installation problems with the texture of the livery manager, I hope that PMDG will correct this because many can not install texture Hi had this prob but found solution by doing a search but if u go to ur fsx/folder/sim objects/ airplanes go to each of ur ngx airplanes select the cfg open it up select properties and than uncheck the read only file check box. than u will have no problems in installing the liveries as per the manual as i have just did its quite easy once the read file is unchecked hope this helps I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
August 7, 201114 yr Problem solved. @ pete_auauThank you for pointing me to the right direction (again). After fiddelling around with the file attributes the problem was solved. I was sure that I had removed the read-only flag, but after checking it again I found it set. Strange. Now the livery manager works with all variants without the need to run it as administrator. I also found that selecting multiple entries with shift or ctrl key makes no difference, in my case. Rainero
August 7, 201114 yr works for me setting file to read/write manually, then selecting all liveries, I had tried running as admin without sucess.
