Problem with the Livery Manager

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, Not an urgent issue as far as things go but still worth posting. My livery manager will only let me install one livery - as in, I can only have one livery installed. If I install, say, the AirBerlin livery, that works, and works fine. If I then try to install the AA livery, it overwrites the AirBerlin liv (different file names, I checked) and leaves me with only the AA liv. If I then try to re-install the AirBerlin liv it tells me it's already installed and I'll need to rename the file - the new file overwrites the AA file again! Sometimes they overwrite themselves leaving me with no liveries. Nope it's not just these two airlines, it's any livery. Thanks & what a fantastic product the 737NGX is - just took her for a fantastic little spin!

Try installing them all together..... using the shift bottom. That worked for me. Also, run as an administrator. Hope that helps FDX706

I've got he exact same issues with the livery manager nothing helps. Continually over writing each otherGerry

Hi Guys ok i have found a way to get this to work on the 800wl version.Navigate to your ngx 800wl file. There you should see all the texture files and cfg ect. delete all the livery files except the pmdg default. You should see a CFG file and a cfg.old.Delete the new cfg. Then rename the cfg .old (ie remove the .old extension) then in the properties of this file remove the read only flag. Now launch the livery manager as admin and attempt a reinstall of the liverys. This worked for me i have all the wl liverys working. hope it does for you guys Also redownload the 900 liverys i beleive there were changes made. RegardsChris stanley

Manual - PMDG-737NGX-Introduction.pdf Page 0.00.126 onwards explains in detail. I Loaded 4 x --800 w/l liveries at one go and all are correctly installed.

Almost identical problem as the original poster here. Load any single livery and it's OK. However any attempt to add an additional livery removes the previous one leaving me with just the house livery. I've tried to add several at the same time and only one loads (the final one of the group selected). The texture files are loading into the aircraft folder OK, but the amendments to the cfg file don't appear to be taking place. I followed Ryans advice in another post and made sure all the cfg files are not read only, and I'm running as administrator etc, but no luck at this end Neil Burgess Edit - just seen the advice above and will try that

Anywhere will do - just navigate to the folder and select thenm individually or in a group.

I have the same problem, PMDG are aware of it and will look into it. For the time being I have been manually editing the Aircraft CFG file to give me all the airlines I install (have to add them). The files install but the CFG file entries get overwritten.

Thanks mate, worked a charm!

I have followed the "directions" listed in the manual and I can't even get the "select livery to install" to activate. Why in the world did PMDG change a perfectly simple and easy installation process such as in the 747 and the MD 11? I hope that someone can eventually figure out how this livery manager works rather than how it is supposed to work. Very frustrated. Jack Fentress

Hi folks . . . I was having troubles with liveries as well. I was getting prompt that aircraft.cfg files are read-only. So I put in a support ticket. Ryan responded very quickly and here's what he said. Go to your SimObjects/Airplanes folder and find the four 737NGX folders there (800, 800WL, 900, 900WL) - open each folder and find the aircraft.cfg file - right click it and choose Properties at the bottom. At the bottom of the resulting window, uncheck "Read Only", press Apply, and then OK. Do that for all four cfgs and it should fix the issue. This happened due to a mistake in the compiling of the installer. You should also run the livery manager as administrator. I'm not sure if there is a problem specific to airberlin and AA liveries but otherwise this fixed worked for me.

Cheers,
