PMDG NGX and Goflight compatability

Featured Replies

Hello For those here who have the NGX and also use Goflight panels, what modules are working at the moment.I would really like to buy the NGX now but should I wait for Goflight to release an NGX compatible config tool? Does the NGX respond to Fsuipc macros ? so that I can get some of the Goflight stuff operating while we wait on Goflights drivers?

Will all be possible once we get the SDK out for them to make a driver with. It may also be possible shortly with LINDA.

HelloThanks Ryan I will most likely go ahead and purchase anyway as I am sure Goflight will want to support the NGX.Is there a panel keymapper similar to what was included in the original PMDG NG ?, that would be enough for me to be getting on with.

I have a TON of GoFlight modules and just got NGX. So Far this is what works: GF-166Com/Nav functions perfect, no others tested GF-46XPDR/DME works GF-P8audio panel functions all work GF-LGTTrim works, albeit too slow for my liking, even with the gain all the way up.Flaps switch worksGear Lever does not work by default, mapped it to "G" in FSUIPC, works GF-TQ6Throttles work.Reversers, speedbrake, flaps all need to be mapped with FSUIPC, also reverse the axis for the spoilers and flaps if you want it to work right. GF-T8I use it for avionics,, battery, alt, lights on my other airplanes, none of this works with NGX, i havent tested all the available assignments yet GF-MCP (not the pro)Displays - CRS, and ALT displays work, the others i forget, but i remember not all them work.Knobs - None work, disengage inop also I have tried running FSUIPC macros to capture the commands, but the way the cursor changes trips out the macro recorder.Logging events to try to get the controls they use is crazy because there is some weird stuff going on with a couple of beacon lights and eng2's anti-ice where they are toggling 10 times a second, so the log is just full of garbageLINDA does not support any goflight stuff yet.Setting keys for the MCP works, but way too damn slow once you get them programmed. for example it takes about 3 mins to make a full rotation of the CRS knob. I guess GF will be working on some drivers, but who knows, historically it seemed to take them forever to get this kinda stuff sorted out, but they updated pretty quick for iFly, so maybe?... I Hope this list helps you, and btw, even with only half my hardware working, i still like the plane alot.

Hello Charlie,That was exactly the information I was looking for, many thanks for taking the time to post.
Logging events to try to get the controls they use is crazy because there is some weird stuff going on with a couple of beacon lights and eng2's anti-ice where they are toggling 10 times a second, so the log is just full of garbage
I noticed this too. Can't be helping the NGX perform well with all that seemingly unnecessary activity going on.

how easy is it too map through fsuipc?

cant the flaps etc be mapped through fs assignments instead? Joe Broadman

I have produced an FSUIPC LUA script that enables full funtionality of upto 2 EFIS and the MCP PRO or the MCP. All switches, dials, toggles and displays work. Search for MCP in the Avsim library. Best wishesSteve

regarding the go flight throttles; does the go flight driver work ?? normally you download the driver use the go flight config to assign the flaps etc

No, I had to assign them via FSUIPC. I didn't want to map them via FSX Control settings, because I switch handles out when I fly GA/T-Props
