August 6, 201114 yr It's making my hand flown landings look completely rubbish. Frankly I think something ought to be done about this. This aircraft is going to destroy the self esteem of sim pilots everywhere. EDIT: Apparently I need to spell out that *I am using hyperbole to make a point about how good the autoland performance is*. Blimey. Ed Moore http://www.edmooredop.com

This is the best and only 737 sim worth using. The rest are rubbish. Fred. Frederic Steiner.
August 6, 201114 yr Author then you must be a rubbish pilot because most others find this plane easy to fly well. Ah yes, I momentarily forgot that when you make a joke on the internet you have to telegraph it with a flashing beacon... Sense of humour failure, Nigel? Ed Moore http://www.edmooredop.com
August 6, 201114 yr definitely not difficult to land even with ap disconnectedexcept landed a few feet before the runwayvivek anand

August 6, 201114 yr It's making my hand flown landings look completely rubbish. Hehe, when I flew the tutorial flight and saw the autoland function in action for the first time I was scared at first. The descent looked awfully fast and I already braced myself for a hard impact... but then the autopilot flared the aircraft much later than I would have and put it down nice and soft. Impressive for sure!

Impressive for sure! Patrick - exactly! Actually all joking aside, it's genuinely helped me with my landings. The FCTM recommends flaring at 10' which always seemed super low to me, but watching the autoland do it you realise it's just about perfect. Ed Moore http://www.edmooredop.com
August 6, 201114 yr My first landing and I forget to lower altitude on schedule. As a result I flew exactly over the runway during autoland!
August 6, 201114 yr Author My first landing and I forget to lower altitude on schedule. As a result I flew exactly over the runway during autoland! LOL! Yeah the first time I used VNAV for some reason I forget I would have to LOWER the MCP altitude as well as increase it on the climb... resulted in a pretty precipitous descent once I'd realised..
