August 8, 201114 yr There are SO many rumors and bad statements floating around about the SDK that we need this set straight. From what I have read from a few on the PMDG staff, the SDK will be available to ANYBODY but it is up to the hardware manufactures to make their own drivers for their products. They can not charge a fee for those drivers. I take that as a regular private consumer who purchased the AWESOME NGX, i will be able to get the SDK and write my own drivers for my own sim. Correct???? Thank you guys for GREAT product that has become an addiction to me! Rob Rob Archer KIND Flying in a Full size 737 simpit
August 8, 201114 yr Not sure it's quite "madness" Rob... I'm sure they will spell it all out as things settle down. We're not even a week from launch, yet. Paul Skol
August 8, 201114 yr Commercial Member Seeing as how this is the only post I've seen here asking this, I'm not sure how there's any "madness" over the SDK.Anyone will be able to download it - whether you can use it or not is going to be up to whether you know how to program drivers. The SDK is not something that magically makes the custom functions in the plane work with any hardware - that can't exist. August 9, 201114 yr Ryan, Thank you for taking the time to respond about the SDK, and yes there are many of us who know that the SDK is not a magical program. However, if you give it too us, we will make magic with it in our own right... Also, how about doing a search of your forum for "SDK"? You will see a lot of us talking about it. In fact, I have sent you a support ticket to get an answer. Simply, can you just say "The SDK will be available to all on or about such and such date and time?" That is all we need...really! It's not asking too much; especially, since this was likely the second biggest question right after, "When will the PMDG 737 NGX be released?". How about pinning a thread that gives the answer, so we'll stop asking? Thanks again, John Combs
August 11, 201114 yr Ryan, It seems I owe you apology, as I kept asking about getting the SDK, even though you said "Anyone will be able to download it -..." For some reason, I totally did not see that first part in your post and kept asking "who will get it"? Therefore, I am sorry...please accept my apology. Thank you, John Combs
August 11, 201114 yr Seeing as how this is the only post I've seen here asking this, I'm not sure how there's any "madness" over the SDK.With all respect, there's 3 topics about the sdk on the first 3 or 4 pages.FRED
August 11, 201114 yr With all respect, there's 3 topics about the sdk on the first 3 or 4 pages. FRED Just 3? I want at least 5 Would be cool if the vref speeds could be read directly from the SDK similar to LDS767....
