GuysSorry to be a dampener of expectations but it's not doing nothing for me yet.Was really excited about the anticipated effects-seems there's hardly any ff after installing it.Am uninstalling till someone gives a positive verdictJK

I'll admit I'm quite confused by those who are saying they're not getting any (or little) FF effects using FSForce. Other than having to occasionally reinitialize it using Shift-I or reload a profile when changing aircraft I've never had trouble getting forces with this module. I've flown a LOT with it since the beta program started, so I've got a fair amount of experience. If anyone wants, I can work with them to get the forces working properly. Just email me if you're interested. If you select a profile for the aircraft you want to fly and make sure your default FS forces are turned off you shouldn't be having any trouble feeling forces. Most curious. One thing that anyone having trouble can do here is post your stick type, what aircraft you're using and what profile is associated with it. That way maybe I can try and reproduce what you're (not) feeling.thanks,

Hi All, Well, i have been testing this addon with the PMDG 737, all hand flying and am almost sold. First problem .... after installing my ff2 i forgot to turn off the force in fs 2004. Pitch is modeled beautifly , the trim makes the planes wonderful to fly, i really dont know how i lived without it. Aileron.... well was still getting some slaps from side to side and sometimes had no control response from ailerons (makes for a intersting ILS approach ) I think i have solved that by removing all the null zones in FS2004. Fingers crossed. I have been making my own forces and feel that i am starting to enjoy having this addon. Only issues, I am still setting it up to see if i like it enough to buy it.. 10 uses is a bit too little to really get the idea. Price is a little of a concern..but i think that once i get it set up right i wont want to fly again without it. Then again, it is the best Force feedback i have ever used, i put my joystick away only a few days after i bought it cause i was not impressed. this addon has made me get it out again, and i really am thinking about force again Cheers Darren

I have purchased this. I have noted all the comments from those who claim it does not work for them and I am left wondering - did ANY of you actually read the instructions?Several reasons for non-appearance of forces in FS:1: You haven't switched off the FF in MSFS2: You haven't read the instructions3: You haven't deleted the joystick assignments for trim adjustment and reassigned under FSF.4: You haven't read the instructions5: You have a Saitek stick and haven't read the instructions specific for that stick (requires an amendment to profiles)4: You haven't allocatd a FF profile from within FSF, per the instructions.I printed out the installation instructions, followed them to the letter and the difference is like night and day. The forces can be less apparent, especially if you used `bull-in-a-china-shop` settings under the crappy MSFS system but they are more indicative - increased resistance with airspeed, extra resistance to rapid movement, proper trim forces based on the position of the surfaces v. the trim tabs, that kind of thing. However, the package makes available the facility to increase the forces to any level that suits - you can make the aileron response so stiff it makes your shoulders ache to use it if you want. Great for the Antonov! The best bit is that FSF finally gets rid of that `sloppy` feeling in the MSFF2 stick either side of centre which makes it so much easier to get a sense of attitude with your head out the window in VFR flight.I do agree the cost is too high. But then one could always try sending the bill to Bill. After all, if Russ Dirks can make the MS Force Feedback stick work with the MS Flight Simulator package, why couldn't MS? Allcott

Hey Allcott, in answer to your questions:1. YES2. YES3. YES4. YES5. YES4. YES (should be 6, but thats' what you put, LOL)I decided to really get into it last night, as I stated in an earlier post that noone replied to, I keep getting an error about turning auto centering off, which after playing with it some more, became an inconsistant deal and sometimes it worked, sometimes not. I tried several different ships, from the decathalon, to the beaver, to the 421 (which felt good by default) to the Albatross and while sometimes I would get some nice feeling, if fluctuated and not all the time. I tried water landings which should give youi a jolt when you hit the water, NADA, even after increasing the profile. Tried dropping the skids hard on the helis, still nada, even after uncreasimng the profile. The one thing I really want if good vibration and groud roll effects, this was virtually non existent with all kinds of settings.I found that the default helicopter profile settings were null, so I increased them and still got little. At least I tried, it is a cool concept and for a brief period I got the effect in the bellanca cruiser, which was pretty amazing. I tried it with my MSFF sidewinder and it works great. The pressure makes the stick feel like you are reacting with rushing air now rather than being loose and sloppy. But the force that surprised me the most was on braking. I almost wanted to lean forward in my chair from the illusion of decceleration. I really like it, but unfortunately, the price is too high for me. At $10, I would already have registered it, but I will not pay $35(!) for it. Shame, because I think it is an exceptional add on and the way FS9 should have been to begin with. Congratulations, guys, on making a very nice add on. Of course, if I were marketing it, I would try and go for volume users at a lower price point.

I know that when some of you who haven't gotten FSForce to work right for you yet...DO get it set up right, you won't want to be without it. If you are a force feedback fan like I am, Microsoft and the others have NOT given us our money's worth. Russell Dirk HAS. I'm certainly NOT going to return my year old joystick. So, how can I justify its purchase if I don't have good forces to go with it. You know, $35.00 is about $.10 cents per day over 1 year to invest in this great hobby. I just don't get it. I know we spend on other programs because we want to. I do all the time. AND I sometimes don't use those payware programs much after I buy them. THAT'S a big waste of money! With Russell's software, I will use it EVERY DAY! I have to....if I fly anything. Now that's getting the most for your money. From an investment point of view, the only payware that has given me a RETURN on my investment has been (1) Active Camera, (2) FS FORCE, (3)260 Marchetti ( I love this plane), (4)Eaglesoft planes (Beechjet and Premier),(5) PMDG 737.MOST of what I've purchased over the years is not used frequently enough to give me a RETuRN ON INVESTMENT. It still does, though, give me enjoyment when I use it, even if it is infrequently, so I guess it's worth it.FRFORCE will be there for me day in and day out, and when the updates for TURBULENCE AND OTHER FORCES are available as Rusell continues to improve the program FREE OF CHARGE TO ALL REGISTERED USERS, then I will know that this mere $.10 cent a day investment in my hobby was more than worth it! Stan

Hi Stan,You know, $35.00 is about $.10 cents per day over 1 year to invest in this great hobby.Flight Sim 2004: $50.00 - $.14/dayFFB Joystick - $112 - $.31/dayAdd-on Aircraft - $110 - $.30/dayAdd-on scenery - $65 - $.18/dayWeather Add-on - $33 - $.09/dayThis hobby costs me: $1.02CAD per day or $372.30CAD per year already!! :-lol (just ribbing ya!!)OK

I guess they don't make FF for a yoke & pedals yet? So I made my own... just took my sub-woofer of the floor and put it on my desktop!now I got plenty of shakin' ;)

Ha...funny response. I certainly see your point; however, there are some addons that "are always there" and some you "choose to use". Many of those that I choose to use just aren't used by me, and I suspect others, as much as those that are "integrated" into the program, like FSFORCE or ACTIVE CAMERA. $372.30 per year. NOW THAT'S A BARGAIN FOR A HOBBY. Last time I played golf (another hobby), it cost me about $25.00+ per day AFTER and NOT INCLUDING the investment in clubs, balls, gasoline for car, and lunch in the clubhouse.I love flight sim SO much that I've been involved in in for MORE years than I've been playing golf. It's truly a very economical hobby when everything is considered. The therapeutic value (de-stress) alone is worth the price. All I'm saying is that IF FORCE FEEDBACK IS SOMETHING YOU DO ANYWAY, why play with a wimpy program when the "robustness" of Russell's progam with the "perceived value" of the many addons and forum members upcoming, sure to be uploaded "tweaks". Now that's what I perceive to be real value. To each his own......nice talkin' to you again, Mike Stan

Hi MichaelRegarding the auto centering error, in weeks of testing I never saw this error with my msff2 on XP.Are you running XP? what drivers for the stick are you using?."The one thing I really want if good vibration and groud roll effects"These 2 effects are linked in fsforce.Try the default 737 or any aircraft which uses the Jet medium profile, apply power as it goes past 80%n1 you should feel the engine vibrations then as you go through 60kts the bumps effects come in , and they feel greatYou could also check the Relevant CFG file for the jet medium profile in FSForce.CFG here's mine.[Jet Medium]ID=ProfileAileronForcePoints=0,0,64,0,132,25,236,67,322,98,398,99ElevatorForcePoints=0,0,64,0,136,60,239,83,302,100,369,101ElevatorWeight=20GroundOps=Run-up vibs, heavyAileronFriction=45AileronDamping=0ElevatorFriction=60ElevatorDamping=0MechanicalCutoff=90LandingTransition=-390LandingHardBase=60LandingMaxForce=-650LandingMinForce=0LandingWingsLevel=5BrakeStrength=20BrakeVibrationPeriod=80BrakeVibrationStrength=17BrakeVibrationDirection=75BrakeVibrationStartRamp=90BrakeVibrationEndRamp=70GearThumpMagnitude=30GearThumpPeriod=350GearBuffetDuration=0GearBuffetMinForce=5GearBuffetForce=20GearBuffetBasePeriod=140GearBuffetModulatingPeriod=600CorneringMaxSpeed=83CorneringMaxCrosswind=30GroundOpsGain=1.0UseN1=1Its really frustrating that some of you are not getting these great effect,s The Engine vibrations and the speed bump effects are one of my favorite elements of Fsforce. All the bestJohn

I personally got nothing out of the program zip, zero, nada. Tried it for the ten try period, I tweaked and prodded and swore and actually went out and bought a brand new computer. NOTHING! then my litte one casually suggested, you really need a FF joy stick to get anything out of that....@#$%^&*(:-mad :-lol

Gotta love 'em. :-)

Now I know why some of you are not enjoying this software. YOU NEED TO HAVE A FORCE FEEDBACK JOYSTICK! Stan
