August 14, 201114 yr I'm flying the NGX using the CH Flightsim Yoke (LE). Within FSX, I've programmed/set the left 'rocker' switch (next to the two red buttons) to trim up or trim down. However, when flying the NGX only the 'trim up' button works - the 'trim down' button has no effect/does nothing. Could PMDG have 'programmed' that switch to do something else in this aircraft (over-ruling the FSX settings) which I haven't discovered yet, or could this be a compatability bug? Thanks for any help. Toni.
August 14, 201114 yr I have the same issues occasionally (twice to be exact) I just switch over to the cessna and then back again to the ngx and trim begins to work again; or else save the flight and restart FSX. Not sure why this happens though. Sean Green
August 14, 201114 yr Commercial Member Electric trim down is limited to 3.9-ish units on this plane. The flight control system will allow to trim up from an off limit situation but definitely NOT trim down once at or beyond the limit. ==================================== E M V Precision Manuals Development Group ====================================

The flight control system will allow to trim up from an off limit situation but definitely NOT trim down once at or beyond the limit. Thanks for that - however, I was nowhere near the limits you mention and in any event, I can trim up and down using the mouse (wheel) on the trim wheel on the centre pedestal. It's only the 'programmed' button on the yoke which doesn't work.... Toni.
August 15, 201114 yr For me the trim on the yoke does not work on ground, but once I'm in the air all is fine. Strange and hopefully PMDG will pick this up. Happy flying!Alexander M. Metzger

Suddenly trim came alive in that direction again. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
August 15, 201114 yr I also had it once, but luckily figured it out in time, so restarting the flight solved the problem, and it worked from then on. Zsolt Bondar
August 15, 201114 yr In my case, the problem is always there. I use Saitek yoke with throttle quadrant. In the latter, I set one the levers to work as the elevator trim. What happens is, when I use the lever, the trim first goes all the way up or down, no matter the direction I am moving the lever, and just after it got in the limit it starts to come back is the opposite direction. It makes me use only buttons to trim the elevators, but it not as good as a Lever axis. I hope PMDG would sort this thing out.

Setting up an axis for trim is a little more involved than people think. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

August 20, 201114 yr For me the trim on the yoke does not work on ground, but once I'm in the air all is fine. Strange and hopefully PMDG will pick this up. Strange me too. It was working perfectly but the last hotfix seems to have done this. Was working fine before that both ways. Now on ground trim works one way but not the other. In the air good as gold. August 21, 201114 yr I think there is some conflict with how PMDG have coded the trim, because when on ground I could move trim wheel both ways if clicking on the wheel itself, however using keys/joystick mapped to keys it would only go one way. I tried with Linda, fsuipc and fsx... Then I worked out that if I delete the assignments in FSX including the key commands - and set it just through linda or fsuipc it works perfectly. August 21, 201114 yr I had this problem today but I fixed it by reassigning the yoke button in FSX's control panel and I resumed my flight. Edit: for clarification I reassigned it to the same key and it worked again.
August 21, 201114 yr Elevator Trim wheel on a SLIDER (axis) ?? Are you really sure you want to do that. ? Surely, the Trim should be simulated with an UP and a DOWN button (on the Yoke)( It's not a R/C plane !!) Geoff
