Skeleton external airplane

Featured Replies

Whenever I swith to the external viwes my 737 becomes just the windows and cargo holds. The external fuselage disappears (witht he wings, etc). The weird thing is, it doesn't do it on the liveries i installed on my first day of using the ngx. It only does it on liveries after the first day (august 13). I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the affected liveries to no avail. Yes I read the intro and I think editing my fsx.cfg file might help solve my problem. I can't however find the fsx.cfgIm running W7x64 and I installed FSX into c:\fsx like it says. Where can I find the .cfg file in order to add the himefmex=1 entry? Thanks for the help. Mitch Bowman

Here it is C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX you should go here and get a nice fsx.cfg file http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html
Good news, the hotfix seems to have fixed the skeleton plane problem (at least for now). i would however like to find the .cgf file. After \username appdata isnt an option... Would the fact that i installed fsx into c:\microsoft flight simulator X rather than into the default have anything to do with this? Can you (or someone) post a screen shot of the location and the .cfg file? Thanks,Mitch Bowman

In the control panel, select small icons from the top right view dropdown.Look for "Folder Options" as an icon. Somewhere in the window that opens there will be a way for you to set advanced options under the "View" tab, and you'll have to tick/check the "Show all files and folders" box in the list. Then you will see Appdata. :DCheers!

It will be there. AppData is a hidden folder. You need to go into the 'Alt' menu and go to options and disable hidden files/folders.

Does this work in Windows 7? If it does, I never knew you could. Sounds like XP. :(

(OS DRIVE)/Users/(Your User)/Appdata/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX for the CFG. The intro is not correct. It's HIGHMEMFIX=1 not HIMEMFIX=1. Cheers! EDIT: Richard beat me :D
does it matter where in the list of entries i paste highmefix=1?

Under the [Graphics] section.
Do I have to "save" the entries, or does closing the window save them?

Yes, but if you attempt to close the window, it will ask I you want to save anyway.
Ok, and final question, there is already an entry for TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024 Do i delete that one and add the TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096 or is that in addition to the existing one?

Just change the number at the end.
