August 17, 201114 yr Thanks Ryan, but the hotfix(3) is not changing the version numbers or the dome issue. It does some variants, but not all. I fixed the dome myself. Just a heads up for you.
August 17, 201114 yr Author Yes, despite the fact that i installed hotfix2 and hotfix3 i have two folders with old builds and no dome lights fix applied (Whitch i had to apply by hand):PMDG 737-800NGX WL// Current with Build: 1.00.2888PMDG 737-800NGX// Current with Build: 1.00.2922PMDG 737-900NGX WL// Current with Build: 1.00.2888PMDG 737-900NGX// Current with Build: 1.00.2922 In the planes with 2888 build above there is no dome light fix. Hotfix2 and hotfix3 where installed with admin permission and no issue during instalation. And i´m getting huge drop of fps just for staying still in the tarmac. Something between 8-15fps loss in the same situation with the same aircraft (GOL 800 WL)Before hotfix3 all was good staying in 30fps all the time. I don´t know what happened but it´s the way it is now for me. August 17, 201114 yr This must sound confusing, but after hotfix 3, if anything my frames are better. Haven't had any problems with it so far.i7 920 @ 4.0ghz6GB memnvidia GTX295 Kind Regards, Dan Wela

There probably shouldn't be any after removing a livery, but in one case I found some.Lastly, I went into my FSX.cfg and deleted all the NGX guage entries. After all the .cfg's were replaced with the fresh ones from the link, all paints removed except the default ones and their .ini files from the other PMDG folder, I ran the latest hotfix. After that I rebooted, not sure if it makes a difference, then ran CCleaner to deleted the reminates from the installers, installed the liveries again and checked my aircraft.cfg's and they all match version numbers. If you use EZdok I would set the config manager back to default first before deleting the .cfgs, then after you run the update and all the .cfg's match, run the EZdok setup again to place the 201 camera entry back into the .cfg's.Doing it this way seems to have worked well for me, but it seems that we all get different results from each update.Like I said, it wasn't stated by PMDG to do it this way, but I like to start as fresh as possible before each update and so far that method has worked well for me.Sean Campbell Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
August 17, 201114 yr Author Thanks Sean,I executed the update process as pmdg instructed, removing all the liveries, installing hotfix3 as adm, reinstalling all fresh (Downloaded again) liveries, activated the gauges in fsx startup. BTW, the plane is functioning correctly, no ctd´s, no freezes, dome lights working after fix by hand just a horrible performance witch was not present until hotfix2.Your method appears to be more safe. I´ll try that next time in maybe hotfix 4 or, hopefuly, the sp1. For now, my beautifulllll bird is parked at a remote parking spot waiting the maintenance. August 17, 201114 yr It was doing so well until hotfix 2 .... 18-26 fps and no freezes at all.Now with hotfix3 .... 5-8fps ..... 3 flights until now with the same results. Well ... i´ll stop with these "hot fixes" and wait for the sp1. It´s better. If you stop helping reporting on problems you are having with the HotFixes (that few others seem to be getting), then you mayl regret it when SP1 comes out and you still have issues. Then it may be too late. Maybe you might like to think of yourself as Captain FlavioSSA (737NG Chief Test Pilot) .Doing so could be so much more constructive and fullfilling than any of the FSX Missions !! Geoff Beats any
August 17, 201114 yr Guys, We are not making major changes in these hotfixes - it's tiny things that should not be affecting performance hugely. There are no changes to the models at all since release either - these hotfixes are gauges only. I don't understand where this could be coming from - I'm definitely not seeing it myself. Hi Ryan / Tab, Please, for any hotfix should have the option to restore the previous setting. Another point to be considered, observe if all question posted here are from real customers with emails registered in PMDG. I believe that this avoid wasting time with eventual support for pirated versions. It's unbelievable after years of waiting and thousands of hours of beta testers so obvious problems. I have no problems with mine and did not install any hotfix until now. The best idea is a forum only for PMDG 737NGX customers registered. Think about it. August 18, 201114 yr Author Report back:Did a complete uninstall and installed ngx from zero using an updated .exe that i downloaded today.Happy to say that all my fps came back going from 20-30 all the time even in crowd airports. And all my .cfg files now show : // Current with Build: 1.00.2922Something must got wrong between the hotfixes i supose. So, for the people getting low performance, try a complete fresh reinstall, without the hotfixes, using the updated ngx package. Now i´m happy again Flavio Cardoso - P3Dv4.5 HF3 Win 10 Pro 64Bits - i74960X 4.5ghz - ASUS Rampage IV Black Ed. - Corsair H150i Platinum - 32gb Ripjaws Z - ASUS RTX 2080 SUPER SC - MCP 737R 2015 Virtual Avionics

August 18, 201114 yr Weird.. I've used two hotfixes so far, and have the 8/16 version. I notice littleif any difference so far as far as frame rate.. With my cheap onboard ATI, Irun 10-20+ or so most places. And it's been the same with all versions so far. It's pretty smooth, except at heavy airports where it gets dense. And I have toreduce the scenery some. Not only to increase frame rate, but to reduce thememory load. I'm running 32 bit OS.. :/But even with my cheap onboard video, it's plenty flyable. Once in the air,it's pretty fluid. At cruise, real fluid. On a takeoff at a large airport, Iprobably average 14-16 range.. I'd like it better, but with my hardware Ican't complain much. But I see a real video card in my future, and also 64 bit OS to scroungea bit more memory in order to run denser scenery and not OOM.. :(If anything, it feels more stable since the last two fixes. I had it freeze upa couple of times on the original. Mark Keith
