August 18, 201114 yr You'll be able to get a higher and more stable OC with the Asus board. Good luck. August 18, 201114 yr To be completely honest, and unless the BIOS is lacking some key OC features, these boards without digitals phases may overclock just fine after all. A guy over at overclockers.com got his 2500K to 4.8GHz allegedly with no fuss... I've found others with similar results with P67 mATX boards, or the LE versions. Please Winstonbaby, let us know how you do when you get round to OCing your 2600K I dunno, I would still not recommend those boards The PSU is something you should take care of ASAP in any case

August 18, 201114 yr When i decided to go sandy brige a couple of months ago, i search forums for the right combo (at least the one which sound good to me ) and had to wait a couple more weeks to make sure i could afford what i bought and not making the mistake of compromising to save some money.... Worth it now since i finally have a very stable system, quiet and performant, even when at stock speed PS the only area i could have save some money is with the PSU, not in quality but in capacity; even then we are talking about 20-30 dollars ?! anyway, i"ll be set if Flight ! supports SLI LOL
August 18, 201114 yr Author I guess I should have asked folks to specify what the changes were and why because I guess I'm to stupid to actually compare 2 seperate lists and find the differences! September 3, 201114 yr Author Update! Just to let you all know I have my new system up and running and it is AWSOME! I opted for the ASUS P8Z68 board to support SLI at a later date. Here is a quick summary of my old system vs. my new system... Phenom 1090t overclocked to 4 ghzATI Radeon HD 5750 GPUAsus MoBo1360 X 768 res.etc... Was running FSX with Orbx PNW and default Cessna 172 over Seattle with all the sliders maxed except water at 2X mid and tarrain mesh at 2m as per Orbx, Medium Traffic, low weather...Frame limiter to 30fps external The results were 12-15 fps over flying downtown Seattle at approx 2,000 ft agl. NOW, Intel i7 2600K overclocked to 4.5 ghzEVGA Nvidia GTX 570 superclockedAsus P8Z68 mobo1360 x 768 res.etc. Same scenery, FSX with Orbx PNW default Cessna 172, REX 2.0 moderate settings(could not run rex with ATI Card, too much shuttering) Maxed out sliders as before, medium traffic medium-high weather, Frame limiter to 30 FPS external The result is a solid 30 fps, no shuttering! THIS IS FABULOUS!!!!!! Don Wood Intel i&2600k overclocked 4.8ghz, nVidia GTX 570 superclocked, Asus P8Z68-V MoBo, Water-Cooled, etc. Saitek PRO Flight System, GoFlight Airline Pilot Package, Track IR, EZDOK Camera, Sceptor 40" 1080p (TV), Home-made 737 MIP with 17" samsung and 15" Dell monitors
September 4, 201114 yr Very nice, you should enjoy it. Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
September 4, 201114 yr Additional 200.00 for a I7 and/or a SSD would likely gain you very little with frames. Sounds like you have some processes running which is inhibiting your FPS or taxing your system. I'm running a similiar setup with the PMDG NGX and getting 35FPS on the ground and 50FPS in the air! Randy, have you seen the other couple of guys who recently upgraded to Sandy Bridge from a Phenom II? That makes it four of us that I can quote. You can choose to blindly believe what you want, but you're not helping anyone spreading misinformation. I can pull 35FPS from my washing machine with the right settings
September 4, 201114 yr DO IT!! Intel and Nvidia make a great pair. It may be more money. But you get what you pay for. ~Spencer HoeferMOBO: Gigabye Aorus z590 elite | CPU: Intel i9-10900k | RAM: GSKILL RIPJAWS 32GB DDR4 3200 |GPU: Nvidia RTX 2080Ti 11GB| OS: Windows 10
September 4, 201114 yr Author My only issue with my NEW setup was the artifacts or shimmering with the Nvidia graphics card. I was willing to overlook this issue because of the increased FPS, but after setting up the Nvidia gtx 570 card using Nvidia Nhancer and NickN's advice @ Simforums everything is on par with the ATI card visually, and with a substantial(2X) increase in frame rates. Having owned both systems, both built for FSX, there is no comparison! Intel and Nvidia...HANDS DOWN! Please understand, this system works best with FSX. Although, I wouldn't make this claim about this system regarding any other "Game" because I don't play anything other than FSX. Take it for what it's worth!
