August 17, 201114 yr Commercial Member It's limited based on how much data your hard drive will hold. How many aircraft are around you depends on how much your processor can handle (among other things). Having fewer aircraft installed won't change anything in terms of performance, in general, as you're only flying one at a time. Kyle Rodgers
August 17, 201114 yr On this subject, does having a lot of aircraft cause FSX to take longer to start up, or is it a lot of scenery that causes it to take a long time?My previous FSX install was loaded with both scenery and aircraft and took a loooong time to start. Now I only have PMDG's aircraft loaded and I haven't installed all of my scenery and it starts up pretty quickly. Robert Yunque

August 17, 201114 yr Scenery not aircraft. That causes the slow boots. If you have UTX, GEX etc that'll slow startup times. As for OPs question, I have over 80GBs of FSX data. August 18, 201114 yr I have found that the NGX keeps my file size down. I used to have nearly every plane known now it is just the NGX and lots of GA Carenado planes which my brother who is doing flying lessons in the Jabiru likes to fly.
