How much less perf impact using traffic addon versus stock FSX traffic?

Thank you all for your comments. It appears I can expect more traffic at less total impact, so that's what I was wondering about. Cheers! Noel

bottom line.... YES

I run about 30 - 40% for GA around KORS area, Jeroen - Darrington - CYVR - CYYJ - KPAE and see GA at all airfields, though not too many in the air. I would like to see more in the air, and I expect that means making flight plans for that to happen. The last time was in FS9 with FZ01, so there's a learnin' curve again!

UT2 for commercial airliners and some cargo, UGA, WOAI, and HTAI for absolutely everything else. Note that with UGA, WOAI, and HTAI you have to convert the .bgls to FSX format (some UGAs and WOAIs may have versions that are already converted, but most aren't), and you'll have to create and register in the FSX.cfg new SimObjects folders. If you end up installing a ton of traffic, it can be very time consuming, but it is all very well worth the time and effort. Trust me, the difference is huge, especially with the use of a lot of good business jet AI traffic. Also, see below to save potentially hours of converting and reinstalling everything if you have to remove and reinstall FSX for some reason: -- Excerted from my post in the Traffic and re-installing FSX thread --A tip about installing AI traffic: This may be obvious, but it has helped me tremendously. With the exception of Ultimate Traffic II's traffic, once I've converted all the flight plan .bgls and installed all the AI traffic and airports/AFCADS I'm going to use in FSX, which amounts to a lot, I'd copy and back up to a safe location all the AI and airport related .bgls in: > FSX\Addon Scenery\Scenery *and* Texture folders> FSX\Scenery\Global\Scenery *and* JFK_Jetway.dds and JFK_Jetway_LM.dds in the Texture folder (once you've copied them over from the FSX\Scenery\NAME\Texture folder, that is)> FSX\Scenery\World\Scenery folder As well as doing the same for the AI planes: > FSX\SimObjects\AI Aircraft I actually use five different folders in the SimObjects folder to install AI aircraft, separated by category. With the amount of AI used it just makes things more organized. I also copy and save to a .txt file the AI folder registrations that I manually entered in FSX.cfg: [Main]..SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjects\UT2 AircraftSimObjectPaths.7=SimObjects\AIBizjetsSimObjectPaths.8=SimObjects\AICargoAirlinersSimObjectPaths.9=SimObjects\AIGeneralAviationSimObjectPaths.10=SimObjects\AIMilitarySimObjectPaths.11=SimObjects\AIPaxAirliners When backing everything up, I copy them to the same folder paths as is within FSX, rooted to FSX main folder. So, if I need to reinstall everything all I need to do is simply copy and paste one folder, and voila! All my airports, AFCADS, and AI traffic is installed in one fell swoop, saving me literally hours of converting .bgls and installing everything separately. Ultimate Traffic II takes care of itself and runs in it's own world, so to speak, so it helps that I don't have to worry manual backups there.
