August 30, 201114 yr Before you accuse me of spreading old news, I'm only trying to help some of the new guys with new builds who have been complaining about stutters and may not have seen this before. This may or may not work, I don't know. I will try it when I get home from work. Seems the folks in the Orbx forums have done this with great results. Actually, I suppose anyone could benefit from this. http://ultimatecomputers.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3644 CPU: i7-9700KF stable @ 5.0GHz | MOBO: ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero | GPU: ASUS GTX 1080 Ti @ stock | RAM: G. August 30, 201114 yr Interesting... August 30, 201114 yr I did this when it first came out and again after I reloaded FSX a few months ago onto my RMA'd SSD. Don't know if it helps or not, but at least it didn't hurt. I don't have stutters, although I don't attribute that to this "cure" but to a finely balanced and matched hardware and software system. Kind regards,
August 30, 201114 yr I take it this would apply for the 2500k as well? August 30, 201114 yr Author I take it this would apply for the 2500k as well?I think so. It says it applies to systems using more than 2 logical coresI'd like to know if this affects the affinity mask setting CPU: i7-9700KF stable @ 5.0GHz | MOBO: ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero | GPU: ASUS GTX 1080 Ti @ stock | RAM: G. August 30, 201114 yr I'd like to know if this affects the affinity mask settingNo, the opposite is true: Not truning-off core-parking will void your affinity assignments as "affinity" cores are mapped to non-parked cores. Cheers, - jahman.
August 31, 201114 yr No effect on minimum, maximum, or average FPS here. Perhaps Dazz is cooking up another stutter analysis! August 31, 201114 yr LOL....keep the power on high performance and you won't have to deal with core-parking.....
August 31, 201114 yr LOL....keep the power on high performance and you won't have to deal with core-parking.....I was wondering about that. Come to think of it, I keep mine set to high performance - so perhaps I failed to test the tweak at all! Oh well... too lazy to test again as I keep mine set to high performance anyway.
