September 8, 201114 yr Hey! Is somebody exited about the release of Microsoft Flight?. I wonder if it will include SDK and support XML as FS did. I think by now Flight is delayed a little bit, looking forward it will be developer friendly. Javier
September 8, 201114 yr Commercial Member Clearly you haven't been reading in the Flight forum... my take is that it will be developer friendly to those who pay to be friends.... including selling their products via MS only. Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69
September 8, 201114 yr Really? Do you have a link to the forum you said. JavierIt's on THIS site and it's called The Microsoft Flight Forum Gerry Howard
September 8, 201114 yr Author I found the forum but found nothing releated to developers. Do you guys have link to what you have post relating to this new developers 'policy' of Microsoft for Flight. Javier
September 8, 201114 yr As was previously said Clearly you haven't been reading in the Flight forum... Gerry Howard
September 8, 201114 yr Commercial Member Don't bother - there isn't any info relating to developers ;)The only info ever found was a job posting relating to the Flight SDK.The rest is theory.

September 8, 201114 yr Commercial Member "I'm a doctor trust me?" Nah... seriously. Expect Microsoft to try to set Flight up as something like Steam where you have to purchase absolutely every possible enhancement/mod through their store. As far as being given the Microsoft 'seal of approval'... WHQL isn't free, as example. Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69
September 9, 201114 yr OK, so tell 'em to give us an extremely detailed planet, with accurate atmospheric conditions. If they can give me that, I'll accept it with only one plane and two airports. Then I'll buy or make the rest as I see fit. No full boogie SDK, no freeware development, their choice of add-ons offered, all that = No sale!...Don
September 9, 201114 yr Author My theory is based on information I have that is not available to the 'public' yet. Hi! Now the Flight forum (as previously said I have not read) is 'information ... not available to the public yet' :( or am I just have to reply: yeah. right
September 10, 201114 yr Commercial Member My theory is based on information I have that is not available to the 'public' yet. Thanks Ed. I'd been sort-of wondering whether there would be an SDK and whether it would be worth learning, but very definately not under those circumstances. I've been giving stuff away for years - the thought of having to pay someone to allow me to give it away doesn't really appeal.... -Dai
September 12, 201114 yr There has been nothing released that suggests that freeware developers will not be able to add their planes to the Store, but Ed might have more information on that? Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
