I have always felt the same until a few days ago when I purchased the Carenado F33 (I have 600 hours in one). This is the first plane in xplane that for me "feels" (and looks-real looking instruments etc.) like the real deal in takeoff, landings, and cruise "feel" -much more realistic than anything I've tried in fsx. With that said-the numbers are off-expected power settings, configurations produce wrong airspeeds and I even get 27" of manifold at 10,000 ft. So for the vfr experience this aircraft is great-for the ifr not so.Also-I find roll still isn't quite right. In anycase this aircraft has me using xplane again...
That's interesting re Carenado. Until recently I've never considered using them.. They do have fantastic exterior and interior modelling but it always seems to me that all the work goes on the "eye-candy" with little on the accuracy of the flight model. However I hear things are improving with their new Cessna 337 model and your experiences with the F33 in x-plane give weight to that.I hope x-plane will release a free demo of their new "version 10" when it comes out. Hopefully they'll have a few decent handling default aircraft to help sell the sim.RegardsAdam

I wouldn't count on that. Looking closely at the video previews of X-Plane 10, looks like default aircraft will still have an over-sensitive flight model. That's a pity since the flight models of default aircrafts are very important in helping selling the sim.The good news is you can install and use any 3rd party aircraft in the demo, so you can better evaluate the real potentiality of X-Plane flight model.Of course I may be totally wrong (and I hope so) and we'll have decent handling default Cessnas and Boeings, but I'm ready to bet against it... smile.pngOh well, that's what 3rd party aircrafts are for.Marco
