October 4, 201114 yr I decompiled the .BGL file FS9/scenery/same/scenery/ AP936400 to edit the approach to RWY 28 of RIO GALEAO.When I finished and tryied to recompile the file the bglcomp.exe refused the parse because all taxiway paths of all airports contained in this file have two attributes "drawSurface"and "drawDetail" not expected in the schema.I made the same with the file FS9/scenery/Eurw/scenery/AP949160 and recompiling the file I found the same for all taxiwaypaths of all airport contained in this file. How it's possible that Microsoft has made the stock .bgl files not respecting the schema?Gianfranco
October 4, 201114 yr You should never modify the default files. If you need to modify s single airport, can I suggest that you use ADE. You can change the approaches, compile and save the new bgl to an active scenery area and it will take precedence over the default, but leave all other default airfields as they are. George
October 4, 201114 yr I think drawSurface and drawDetail are in the schema, but I wonder what tool you are using to decompile the AP9 files? Suggest trying Bgl2XML GUI. scott s..
October 4, 201114 yr Just to re-iterate. You should not decompile stock airport files to make modifications. FS provides a way to make changes to these airports without modifying the stock files. ADE can edit approach code for FS9 airports. Jon ------- Microsoft Flight Sim MVP Airport Design Editor FSDeveloper.com
October 4, 201114 yr How it's possible that Microsoft has made the stock .bgl files not respecting the schema?GianfrancoI think it's more likely that MS used a different compiler than the one they provided in the SDK. Using BGLComp to re-compile the default files is asking for trouble. There is no reason to do so. Edit your approach in ADE9X and place it in an active scenery folder with higher priority than the default files and you will be good to go. regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
October 5, 201114 yr How it's possible that Microsoft has made the stock .bgl files not respecting the schema?Gianfranco They didn't use the schema provided with FS9, an updated version was posted by someone on-line some time afrer release.
October 5, 201114 yr Author I backed up the stock .bgl files and I can restore it any time I like.I checked the schema and really the two attributes aren't expected in the Taxiway path.I posted for wander round the why microsoft made the stock files out the schema.I made and are in the library others .bgl files like NAT v.4 and VHHX APPROACHES and I want to ensure that I know very well how to make it working within FS9.Please how can I find the update schema version that GHD says in his post?Regards Gianfranco
October 5, 201114 yr If you install Airport Design Editor 1.50 it will include the updated schema. I recommend using the bglcomp exe and schema versions in ADE as it has been heavily tested. scott s..
