It was on the guru3d forum that some complained about the 280.26 making the 500 series card run hotter. Go with what ken suggests.

I've had zero problems with any driver set and I bought the card on day 1 when they came out. I'm on the 285 betas right now (needed for the BF3 beta) and it's fine.

Yep, same here. Have had zero problem performance or heat wise with the beta drivers (285.38).

I ran the 285.38's for the BF3 beta but as soon as it was over and I went back to playing BFBC2 I would get CTD's. I found that many others were getting the same thing so I went back to the trusty 270.61's which look great with FSX. I find other drivers work fine but the IQ isn't as good as with the 270.61 in FSX. Every setup has it's own quirks though.

I agree Dave, the .61's are really good, and rock solid.

40-60C is way below max for a GPU... that's not a heat issue he's having...

Guys, I have a slight 'issue' in that the water texture seems a tad bit too shiny and reflective for my liking. I've just transitioned from an ATi card so forgive me if I dont enough experience. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I have REX for textures and have injected the usual themes I always use.. See pic below: Thanks. Cheers

My comment was not related to heat in this instance, more the quality of the driver. My bad for not mentioning that in my post.

Water looks about the same as mine, or similar at any rate...What's your water slider set at? Low 2x is generally the best compromise between detail & performance.
