November 17, 201114 yr Hi Max,Thanks for the info on setting up the spoilers. I am using the PFC NG quadrant with the spoiler lever on the left side and it is working great. Now if I can just get the flap lever to work all would be great. I tried the same method as for the spoilers, but it didn't work. Maybe eventually. Thanks again,Tom Hibben
November 17, 201114 yr Oh wow Max, you won't believe it but using your great info I applied the same to the flap lever and it works! I now have all the levers working OMG... Okay if I can just settle down a moment...open FSUIPC Registered, 1) on " Axis Assignement" window click Rescan and move physically up and down the Pfc FLAP lever. 2) under Type of action required set button selection "send direct FSUIPC calibration " 3) pop up the first window under and select "flaps" and you have finish with this window. 4) on "Joystik calibration" window press the selection arrow to visualize internal page 6 5) Check the box "REV" 6) You should have the upper right quarter page called "flaps" press set and move the lever to flaps 40 and press the set button under MAX 7) now move the flap lever to the flaps up position and press the set button under MIN 8) Press OK and close the FSUIPC windowif your lever has a little "noise" you may get the ocassional flap lever moving by its self, or missing a detent. But I am so pleased this works thanks MAX. Clive NorthropOEDF
November 18, 201114 yr Max & Clive,Thanks to you guys I have also managed to get the flaps working. It is great thing that we have some very smart folks on this forum. Couldn't have done it without you. Thanks again,Tom Hibben
December 1, 201114 yr Just getting started with a Cirrus II & Pedals.....ordered a PCI serial card.....taking notes.....great post! Keep your fingers crossed!C Best- Carl Avari-Cooper
January 3, 201214 yr Have the Cirrus II Console working with the Turbine Duke and getting ready to set up for the NGX. Would I be better not selecting the default Cirrus Console commands and assigning keystrokes for everything via FSUIPC? Would really appreciate someone with this setup to PM me with an email so I can discuss off list.Ta! Best- Carl Avari-Cooper
January 6, 201214 yr Just made my first flight with the NGX and the PFC hardware......very happy with the results.....still working on some of the hardware/keypress programming- but definitely positive about the result. Still would appreciate someone who has been using PFC stuff with the NGX PM'ing me......have a couple of questions about the A/T vs. throttle position interaction. I do not have the tick box for override AT in PFC checked....and NEVER is selected in the NGX options- however, moving throttles (to match) still results in interaction w/ AT system.....unlike my old CH setup. Is there a workaround.....?Loving every moment of NGX flying.......even more now :) Best- Carl Avari-Cooper
January 16, 201214 yr All working as wanted with the PMDG NGX and 744X- had a bit of a headache with it initially so I'm posting here in case someone else needs a pointer (special thanks to Tom Hibben)-I do NOT map ANY (especially throttle) axis' in FSUIPC. I do assign keystrokes to buttons so that everything I want to press buttons for is mapped to the Flight Console. As there are less buttons on the yoke than my old CH stuff I have mapped the EZCA views as follows-Main Pilot Forward View to Right RearMCP/Glareshield and Main Panel to right topCDU to Right BottomUpper Overhead Start LOverhead to Start RLEFT to Fuel Left, RIGHT to Fuel RightFORWARD OVERHEAD to Cowl Flaps Closed/Up and PEDESTAL to Cowl Flaps Closed/DownI did map the LEFT & RIGHT CUTOFF switches to the Left & Right Fuel Boost SwitchesThat way I still "reach up" for the start switches, but can also action the cutoff/idle leversCMD A is mapped to Avionics MasterAP DISCO to sameAT ARM to the Alt Air OUTAT DISCO to Alt Air INGear and Flap work fine while as defaultedWhat is VERY IMPORTANT though, is that in the PFC setup, I map the throttles as follows-For the LOWEST setting I use the indicated lowest (just pull the lever back and select what it arrives at). That way there is correct indication at the lower end where just a little throttle gets you moving and you can finesse them to keep at 10kts w/o riding the brakes. For the HIGHEST setting I push them to the stops and then back them off until the wide (base) part of the lever is at the bottom of the N in OPEN. That gives me a definite null zone. I advance throttles, stablize engines, depress TOGA and smoothly move the throttles to the stops- that puts them back in the null zone. Auto Throttle works perfectly. Then when I want to go back to manual throttles, I cancel AT, and swiftly move the throttles to the approximate N1 position. Works perfectly- no engine surging and NO AT PROBLEMS.This works for ME- your mileage may vary- but at least there's now a starting point Edited January 16, 201214 yr by lasnubes Best- Carl Avari-Cooper
January 16, 201214 yr Carl,Great everything is working, mine is also working fine and thanks for the kind words.I just installed AivlaSoft EFB and am in the process of getting all working on a client PC. Things work fine, I just have to learn how all the s/w works now. Seems like a usefull program.Tom
