November 8, 201114 yr Just came across this, looks like it may become the way planes pushback and taxi in the future. It said to save time and money, since it only needs APU power.http://avstop.com/ne...rive_system.htm Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d

November 8, 201114 yr Means a few more items to cover in proximity to the active runway, though that's already the case with so many practicing single engine taxis now. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
November 8, 201114 yr Author You know what's really amazing, is that it is such a simple concept, that it has taken this long for someone to come up with it. They're going to make a lot of money with this one, once it catches on. (I only wish I thought of it!!!) Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
November 8, 201114 yr Boeing actually tested it and the fuel it saved in taxi was burnt up by carrying that extra weight around. Chris Miller
November 8, 201114 yr Author Boeing actually tested it and the fuel it saved in taxi was burnt up by carrying that extra weight around. What's your source? The only test I found that Boeing (Boeing Phantom works) participated in didn't say anything of the kind. The extra weight is said to be no more then 1 or 2 passengers (300 pounds), which is also offset by the extra taxi fuel, that would no longer be needed.http://www.boeing.com/news/releases/2005/q3/nr_050801a.html Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d

November 8, 201114 yr They are just doing feasibility checks now. We'll see if they find the same findings as Boeing. Chris Miller
