November 25, 201114 yr Hi Captains,Im a little confused, I have attached a photo to better explain. I have circled my question in Red. Does that mean that the wind is pointing in the direction of that arrow at 71 knots....therefore it would be considered a tailwind in this case?im just curious how to read that display. Thanks Max Max PMDG 747X & 737NGX Pilot
November 25, 201114 yr Yes, that is a tailwind. You can also come to that conclusion looking at the difference between TAS and GS.Bert Van Bulck
November 25, 201114 yr Yes you've got it.And BTW, turn your altimeter to STD above transition altitude Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
November 25, 201114 yr Yes you've got it.And BTW, turn your altimeter to STD above transition altitude Yeah - the Yellow bar around your altimeter means that you've pasted the predefined CDU transition altitude and you should set it to STD Sagi Yanay, VATIL NGX Driver
November 25, 201114 yr As the others said, turn Your altimeter to standard!! And Yes, You have a good Tailwind component that pulls You ahead and to the left...... All the detailed info are in the CDU PROG page 2.The displayed wind direction is not "absolute", but relative to Your actual aircraft track heading. So, as You turn left r right, wind pulls You in another direction.... Sebastiano Piscitello Air France VA, KLM 737 Captain
November 25, 201114 yr maybe he had a failure in the altimeter and no one picked up the tcas was off I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
November 27, 201114 yr If you have any more basic question blast them off now. I don't know if you where simulating a failure (or something) but you have a few important items wrong. Manfred G. Ships are cooler that you think.
November 27, 201114 yr Try to fly away the red marking on the speed display..as you can see, you flying 2 close to the max speed marking.reduce speed to around 240 and 250 kts IAS Volkan
November 28, 201114 yr Author That is set by the FMC and regulated by my CI, which is 100. The plane is perfectly fine to fly at that speed. I prefer to go as fast as possible. Max PMDG 747X & 737NGX Pilot
