That is not odd my friend - it is a massive bug which x plane tries to hide with volumetric fog. It was in version 9 as well - it is caused by a lower than required draw distance. Not much is said about draw distance by the developers and this is the reason why.The pop up starts at 0.09 by the way.Not many videos show it because the problem is hidden by the community and the developers.
