Aerosoft FS2012?

Featured Replies

I've been to the Aerosoft forums and can't find any mention of their flight simulator project. Has anybody heard anything about its status? Has it been officially abandoned?

I read it has been aborted, another sad news.

It probably would have become an arcade game anyway LOL.giftongue.png

Mark II, do you remember where you read it?

They dropped that a while ago. They are big on X-plane now.
They will be big on Flight too when it's released.Cheers,- jahman.

I doubt that if Flight is going to Hawaii only, so no way to know that yet.

Not sure why folks keep getting confused about "Hawaii only": Flight will showcase quality scenery for Hawaii only, but of course you will be able to fly the World over.Or do you think the Flight team will have you fly heavies in circles around Hawaii for 10 hours straight? That wouldn't make much sense now, would it?Cheers,- jahman.

So far no proof that Flight will have heavies so lets ignore that. Hawaii only would be ok with small planes, and its not a big surprise that so far we have seen only small planes in MS flight website. I don´t see why they would post only pictures from Hawaii in this far of development if they have whole world modeled with some places higher quality than others. Why no posts about Mount Everest for example, and big planes cruising over Alps and such? Only small planes flying over Hawaii scenery that looks like FSX with addons.

MS has clearly stated they would respect the FS legacy, so expect to find a couple of lightly-modelled heavies in the Flight release.

That's what folks are getting confused about!
  1. Flight will definitely let you fly world-wide (or else the FS legacy would not be respected), and
  2. Flight will ship with detailed scenery only for Hawaii.

Cheers,- jahman.

I was hoping that someone out there had heard some news "officially" regarding the status of AFS 2012 and perhaps provide a link to that info. I didn't expect this to become another "hawaii or not hawaii" thread.

Legacy can mean a lot of things to a lot of different people. It only really matters how MS defines legacy in thier PR-speak. So far they have been ambiguous about their statements. Sure would love to fly around the world with those stunning graphics that we have seen.
