A wake-up call to Robert because of the SDK

Featured Replies

Dear RSR, this is a quote from the NGX Introduction, page 19, 25OCT11 version: "... This may not be SDK avaliable at release time but it will be made a SHORT TIME later ..."The short time has passed since the publication in August, almost six months have passed! They have promised that there also the SDK is released. Dozens and dozens of writing here and wait ... when will you stoop and finally make a binding statments when it finally is. I think we were all very patient, but eventually suggests patience in order to impatience, and impatience is then to incomprehension. And in the end, unfortunately, only the good reputation of PMDG, other companies will take advantage of that. Why iFly has no problem with the EULA and PMDG can not solve the problem?Take your position but please finally ... instead to simply delete such posts. It's not like gentleman.I love the NGX ... I adore your art programming ... but I do not understand your information policyPlease forgive a few grammatical errors, not Google Translator does it better.Sincereley, Frank from Germany

Uhhh. Wow.

I will...................You will need to wait for the SDK just like everyone else. SKDs always get released after a product becomes stable. If changes are being programmed, then a SKD does no good, or you spend twice the time on the SDK.A short time to you is different than a short time to developers, especially when they pay as much to details as PMDG does. They are not going to rush something out the door just to make you or anyone else happy.
Should I? Nahhhh... :(
I don't normally.....You know, in the time that PMDG released their NGX, I've seen two people younger than me die unexpectedly....Fly the NGX if you wish and whilst you're at it, let PMDG and others here enjoy their lives without day in, day out, having to be audience to people like you (who I hope are healthy and remain so) making an unnecessary comment about not having the SDK.Enjoy what you have.... Your comments about what PMDG have previously wrote would sound trivial to some people on this planet. You don't have an SDK.... I don't think anyones life is physically sufferring because of this.Carl Beeby

"Frank from Germany",You should head up PMDG's public relations department. I mean, it's obvious they are intentionally delaying the SDK's release to gripe the customers. Perhaps you could whip them into releasing products and supplements when not ready so that us impatient lot can have our stuff. Now. When we want it.Yadayada Ifly. me me me me me

SDK? SDK? SDK? This question is getting very very old

That means you have the opinion the NGX is not stable enough yet?

This simply means that PMDG when they are darn good and ready (after testing the product and its many variables/parameters) will release the SDK! It really is not any simpler than that. What we as simmers need to understand is that the intent during or after the release of a product is a timeline which the developers have set for themselves (not the customers). Amidst of that issues arise and do cause this timeline to change somewhat. I do not ever recall reading a binding contract from PMDG or any other developer that states a product will be released by a given date, to which you can then hold them accountable.Even if PMDG decided to say "screw it" we won't bother with the SDK, there is nothing that we the customers can do about it. Essentially they have delivered the NGX as promised with all of its bells and whistles.Just take a chill pill and "wait", like everybody else.

:Doh:So besides the can of worms you opened in the OP, we're going there now?By the way, PMDG has been completely transparent about why the SDK isn't released yet. If you're so inclined to post about it, surely you can also find the announcement about it's delay?

It doesn't matter what I think, it only matters what PMDG thinks and they think it is not time to release their SKD yet.

Now look, I know that he may have been a little harsh in the manner that he asked his question but Frank is a PAYING customer and has the right to ask a question like this. He should be able to post something like this and not have everyone kiss up to pmdg and try to act like he's done some forbiden thing. I agree that pmdg should not rush the product but at the end of the day, because it is taking this long, and there are PAYING customers, it's not like pmdg just gives the ngx to people, people like Frank should be able to ask this kind of question and at least get an update from pmdg or if someone else wants to reply, they should at least offer some useful info. I know that Frank was a little pushy in his post which is not desirable if you are pmdg, but at the end of the day, again a paying customer. You all know that you too are highly anticipating the sdk and would LOVE a response from pmdg. Happy new years! I'm not trying to take sides, just trying to cool everything down here. :)

C'mon people. Two seperate issue here. It's one thing for PMDG to take their time to get all the legal things taken care of. It's a whole different story to promise something and then not even provide the slightest bit of communication to the customers who keep you in business when you don't adhere to what you said you would do. If they needed another 6 months, so be it, but can't they at least make some type of statement or provide a weekly or bi-weekly update to keep their customers happy? Wouldn't that little tiny bit of consideration towards your customers go a long way? I think it would. It's business 101. Communicate with the customer!
