A conversation with a Microsoft employee

Howard, you have just been proving wrong about the Admin not deleting a post and you'r telling us that the poster's story can't be true...I have to tell you that the Admin was quick on the trigger this time, why now when we all have read similar story (maybe not a ski-lift story) on Avsim ...this has nothing to do with their (who ever signed one) NDA.I just can't see why the poster would make up a story like that, for what, his 10 minutes of fame, to be laugh at as soon as we get more solid info from MS discrediting his story?Unless the poster is mentally deranged I'm incline to belive him...I may be a big sucker for story like that unless......

At this very moment there's a thread on the front page witha photoshopped version of the Flight FAQ LOL.gifPerhaps I should start a thread about how Bill Gates called me last night and told me that Flight is actually a first-person shooter?

It was a story about how a random Microsoft employee (working on both Halo and Flight I believe :() told him various detailed pieces of information on Flight when they were on a ski-lift together :(

Well, that's not too much but here we go.I do not believe about the ski-lift story but I do believe the developer is the same of the one who programmed Halo.

Lets assume the poster's story is true....what do you mean by "poor guy" ...was the dude not under some kind of NDA you think, did he not know what a NDA was before he signed it, if the story is true and he opened his mouth, HE"S the only one to blame, not the poster, since when are we shooting the messenger....
I'm not "blaming," the poster. Of course he (MS guy) shouldn't have said anything but if I had been the guy this MS guy spilled the beans to, I wouldn't have posted the whole conversation on the internet. I would have realized that the guy probably shouldn't have said anything, but stupidly trusted me and said something anyway, and I would have kept it to myself. The details of the deleted post were quite specific and had a MS boss seen it, they likely would be able to identify the guy from the details. It's a tough economy out there and no one should lose their job over something so dumb, even if they did knowingly make a mistake.

Agree, I myself would have not posted some of the details like the ski-lift or what the guy was or is working on beside Flight but if the guy from MS was (assuming the story is true) stupid enough to spell the beans on what he was or is working on in details HE need to own it if something happen to his job.I don't think the poster did think about what could happen to this guy job (again, assuming this story is true) by posting to many precised details, some details could have been deleted but not all....

Unfortunately I did not get a chance to read the original post, but just saying, the MS, and I am sure the Flight project, hires a number of temporary IT contractors to work on projects for periods of time as flexible workforce. Could be that the person from MS was an IT contractor and is now on a different assignment with a different company and has nothing really to fear in regards to losing his job.
