That's good news, isn't it?Still wondering, wasn't there somebody stating that the devs are still working on the product and might aim for another update?
After reading this thread, I purchased the old 'girl. Bit of a learning curve, but love a challenge :(

Nice one. Graphics may be poor these days, but the systems and the philosophy of tools and features still offers a top notch view on 'not just another Boeing'. Enjoy!

Yes, looking forward to learning the systems. I was thinking that MD aircraft were always underated as far as systems go, but after flying the MD11, I learned just how far advanced and sophisticated they are. There is something special about them (DC10, MD11). Why it took me so long to get around to buying the Mad Dog, I don't know, suppose I thought the MD11 was enough. When I saw some of the prominent names of this forum singing it's praises, including yourself, that was good enough to convince me to buy it. :)

And with the MD-11, another superb release is there in FSX. I fully agree on the praises and I'd even say that she gets sort of unterestimated in flight sim forums.

Good to hear, and welcome to the club ;) Without a doubt one of the most fun to fly aircraft for FS. I'm sure you'll have many ncie flights with it - after you understand how not to blow up the engines :(

Just reading some of the manuals now Benjamin, wowww a lot to learn. Really looking forward to mastering this aircraft.

Must say that for me, doing the tutorial two or three times was enough to get the plane in the air and down again (softly). For full understanding though, reading all of the manuals will be the best of course.

Here is a quick set of advice as for a safe (engine) takeoff operation.Maybe you will find it helpful:1. set flaps to 15 and trim the elevator properly (usually at 6)2. set TRP to TO3. activate TO/GA (TAK OFF / TAK OFF for the Roll and Pitch on your FMA)4. slowly increase throttles to about 1.25 EPR and stabilize (could be 1.4 but 1.25 works safe for me)5. activate A/THYou should hear 'takeoff thrust' and 'Climp' (at 60kts) from your FO.Also suggested:- follow the FD bars- switch on AP at 200ft AGL- activate NAV or HDG at 400-500ft AGL- at 1500ft AGL reset TRP to CL- activate VNAV CLB (unless you wish to use V/S)Of course retract your slats and flaps according to preset SPD bugs (or the T/O sheet). And make sure you're not departing with too high TOWThat's the technique I have used many times with success. I will find it helpful, many thanks Rafal.
