January 25, 201214 yr My suggestions for improving Flight realism in the C-172 and helping new pilot to develop good habit.Maybe someone at Laminar Research will see that.1. Working ELT (activate on hard landing), add ELT switch on panel (On/Off) for testing purpose (with corresponding sound on 121.50 for example);2. Working Hobbsmeter (like the plugin);3. Add external objects, removable during the preflight walk around (Wheel choke, Pitot cover, Cowl plugs, Tie Down Rope, Rudder lock, Tail rope);4. Add internal objects to check during preflight (Hand brake handle, Key on Sun Shade, Removable Control lock plate, Fire extinguisher (gauge in green), First Aid Kit in openable glove box;5. Touching the Key on Sun Shade put it in the Ignition Switch (easiest to evaluate position during flight (L-Mag, R-Mag, Both, Start);6. Audio Selector with working Volume switch (in Off position no sound output);7. Realistic Mixture Lever with micro adjustment possible (push=coarse, rotate=fine);8. Moveable Yokes visible in 2D mode (rotating and moving along Z axe);9. Pressing IDENT or turning Transponder Knob to TEST position activates the blink light only once;10. Working Vol Switch (On/Off ) for Nav/Com Radios (devices can be turn off individually);11. Primer lever should make noise while moved (In and out);12. Working breakers, pushing one turn the corresponding circuit OFF (could be cool to fail one during flight too);13. Airspeed Indicator with adjustable Temperature Knob for non standard conditions;14. Add a movable yellow Needle to the EGT Gauge (to remind peak EGT);That my input... I keep dreaming.Alan
January 25, 201214 yr Commercial Member You're talking payware quality, Alan. This will never be made available for any default aircraft any time soon.Waaaaay too much work involved.
January 26, 201214 yr Author No surprise, I anticipated that kind of answer.Btw, am I the only one wishing for improvements in XP? When I start this tread I expect more input (and support) from other users...Anyway, I’m actually working on a new 2d panel featuring many items list on my first post. I keep you posted.Alan
January 27, 201214 yr @alfletcherI suspect most worthwhile input is to be found over on the org or at x-pilot. It does get drowned out here by the constant whining and negativity.
January 28, 201214 yr actually, i find the .org to be flame-oriented at anyone who deems anything to be missing or flawed in xplane of any variety. anyone voicing an opinion of inadequacy or lack of any feature is met with remarks that send the user typically to a corner until they turn tail and run (unless they're already established at the .org as a long-term user). January 28, 201214 yr In my opinion you can't go wrong by going to the forum at X-Pilot.com.People always willing to help and advise, and none of this crazy pointless bickering that's found on here. Don't get me wrong there are some really good valuble posts made by people on here, it just gets a bit tedious when posts are always turned into arguments about which simulator is best. The .org is also a very good source for information, and all the files which are available from some very talented scenery/aircraft/utility developers. At the end of the day we are all Flight Simulator fans and should enjoy our sim of choice.CheersSimon Regards Simon
January 28, 201214 yr What kind of response do you think you are going to get when you kick a bear-cub in-the-face, in-front of it's mama bear, inside of their den?Just carry a big gun! However, the org is well known for postings that crucify MSFS while glorifying X-Plane. Especially when it comes to flight dynamics. In that respect, I compare the org. to the movie "The Village". This is where the inhabitants still live life as in the 1600's while the modern world is all around. These people don't even know about the outside world, as all contact is cut off. Even flights are not allowed over the area, because it's set up as an animal sanctuary. The org. does the same. They ban or moderate people who have different, but legitimate opinions. That's why I like this forum.
January 29, 201214 yr I have heard this several times about the org but I myself have not really noticed anything much different from anywhere else. Maybe if ppl enter a place and start throwing crap around, the bouncers escort them to the door. Any normal queries get normal answers is what I have found.
January 31, 201214 yr The .org locked my posts because I did not agree with the "bosses" of the forum... I never used impolite langage or anything like that. But I thought maybe I am mistaken... Then noticed other users having their posts blocked while making polite and fair remarks... The excuses given by the moderators sound very bizarre...I then noticed that some other posts there criticize XP 10 but are not lcked... By digging a little, I came to the conclusion that if you start a post showing XP10 flaws, the "bosses" of the .org forum will jump in immediatly in the conversation and they will try to convince you that you are mistaken, they then escalate their tone if you keep not agreeing... Those who finaly gave up or agreed with them or even changed the subject or diverted from it in the same post, their posts were not blocked but if you stick to your opinion they will not like it and will finaly acuse you of this and that and lock it...That was my impression, so I packed my stuff and disconnected from a forum where I was trying to find some answers to what seemed to me an unfinished software I boughtCheers Edited January 31, 201214 yr by Claviateur ________________________________LEBOR SIMULATIONSScenery for Flight Simulators since 1998
