Hi-I'm looking at Aerosoft's AES and was wondering if anyone had any opinions regarding it. I know there's a free demo but before I go down that path, I thought I'd try here first.My main concern is frame rates at the big airports which almost all I have (FSDT). I have a medium system (3.8ghz) so this may come into play. Any other notables?Thanks,Mark

No frame rate loss here. And as you say you can try it for free....it is a very immersive addition.

It only works on certain airports (payware). I like the features, no major FPS hits for me, but I don't like its pricing model. There's a competitor to it soon which is suppose to work at any airport as I mainly fly out of an AES unsupported one.

Do note that FSDT's GSX will only move jetways if they are "proper" FSX standard ones (calleable with CTRL+J). In other words, you can count on it that GSX will not work for the majority of products by Aerosoft, FlyTampa, UK2000 etc...

Well, it's only the jetways... You will still get all the functionality of course. But, ya know... stairs being rolled up to your aircraft when there's a jetway? Dunno. Doesn't mean you can't use it with airports that don't have jetways though. For exmaple, UK2000's Liverpool Extreme is reserved for GSX. Saves me some credits, to be spent on airports that do have unmoveable jetways. So my advice is to install them both and get the best of both worlds.

GSX will work in full feature mode for free at all FSDT airports. Otherwise you will need to pay for GSX to use it all at payware/freeware/stock FSX airports. The good news is that it will work for ALL airports for one price, but like Ben said, if the jetways at a particular airport dont already move using CTRl J or a radio frequency (Imaginesim), then you would need to have AES for that particular airport. If jetways aren't that big of a deal then just wait for GSX and use it for free at all the FSDT airports. If you like it then buy it to use at all non-FSDT airports and if needed buy AES credits for after market airports that dont already have moving jetways.
