February 3, 201214 yr Now there be a question...Head over to SOH and run a search. There's more than one long thread covering this. Thanks Phil. Forgive me for my ignorance, but what is SOH?BTW, what's the update on your stolen items? Rick Almeida
February 3, 201214 yr @John BinnerOk, now that you have made us all green with envy :( as you were signed off these agile if not the most graceful of warbirds, in your opinion, as I'm contemplating a buy, which is the better buy, the Area-51 or the Virtavia version. I've read the merits and demerits of both but not seen an in-depth review to sway me to one or the other.Woah, lemme clarify....i was ATC NOT a pilot. lol As for which version, I only have the Virtavia version so I can't compare. However the Virtavia is the closest I could find to the freeware one that used to circle around for FS9....in fact I think they started there and added-in a soundpack I used to have as well.In fact, here is a photo from back in my FS9 days. :) (attached)And in the pic, that would be the FS9 freeware C17 over Hilton Head Island, SC. :) John Binner, MCDST U.S. Dept Of Veteran Affairs, Senior IT Analyst OI&T, SPM, Clinical Imaging 2022 Build: Thermaltake Core X71 Full tower case, ASUS Prime X570-P Motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core CPU, ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX6900 XT GPU, G.SKILL Ripjaws 32GB DDR 3600 RAM, Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 850W 80+ Gold PSU, Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240L Water Cooler
February 3, 201214 yr Aaaah, the C-5.One of a select few aircraft that can be near-instantly identified by sound alone. At our local airshow each summer, a few local enthusiasts participate in the media/rehearsal/arrivals day, and they always bring in the C-5 just after we set up our chairs and tents on the grassy knoll at the base of the control tower... and, as always, they'd park her right next to us!Objects in this picture are closer than they appear...Behind me, the tent over the BBQ pit is flying away, and aside from the sand hitting us in the face, you had to watch out for some flying lawn chairs, too.So much fun. :)
