February 2, 201214 yr I just got me a WC kit. It's gonna need to be a ghetto build cause my case is the old CM 690 and there's no way I can fit a 240 rad in there, so it's going to go outside to the back.Matter of fact can't blame it on the poor case. I couldn't be cheaper, Jim will love it :D I should post pics of my rig with those 3 Gentle Typhoons strapped to the NH-D14 with 0.10€ rubber bands before I dismantle it :D

February 2, 201214 yr Just 1-2 ºC. Not worth it at all. They are allegedly very good fans for rads, great static pressure and all, so hope they will do better in the WC loop. I got me some heat-shrink & flex-sleeving for the Typhoons too and will be doing some cable management at last. It all started about a week ago when one of the GTX480's fans started making a crackling sound. It even stopped turning at low fan speeds. A bad bearing I guess. Something so simple like taking the card out to send it back for RMA with all those mangled cables there, not only the fan's, also the fan controller's, sound card, PSU, ... it also needs cleaning already, so thought now that I have to take it apart it's a good time for an overhaul and tidy up this crap. This is the kit I'm getting: EK Water Blocks EK-KIT H3O - Supreme HF 240 Cu

February 2, 201214 yr I've heard that thing is sweet! Can't wait for the pics, good luck man. When are you pulling the trigger? Thanks ZachTransfered the money just a couple of hours ago, but one of the items in the order was listed as unavailable untill Feb 27th.It's been a tough decision, was on the fence between this kit and the XSPC 750 RX240, but went with the EK kit in the end because it's got the (slightly) better block from what I could gather, and especially for the compression fittings... and it's cheaper, hehe. May be getting the XSPC XR240 rad if I add a GPU block someday, but that's not goning to happen any time soon since there's no WC block for my non-reference PCB GTX480. For the next next card probably, Kepler of course :)Had to plan it all very thoroughly because of my case's limitations, and that item is particularly important. It's actually the XSPC's rad exterior mounting brackets that I'll be using to provide enough separation between the rad and the back panel so that I can still use my connections there (important hehe). If it works as planned it should result in a very convenient build to drain, refill & bleed. The main idea is to attach the rad to the case with 2 sets of those brackets and 4 thumbscrews, so that I can easily get my rad lower than the reservoir and bleed it in no time. I was told that's the easiest way to bleed all the air, with the rad below the res.It was already time I did something about my rig. My Windows is kept pristine at all time, but inside it's a mess. I think a side window would be a great idea for me to remind me to tidy up when I have it all helter skelter again after the next couple upgrades. That's how it always goes, It's reasonably organised when I put it together for the first time, then play with new fans, the fan controller with 4 channels (4 cables) 4 temp probes (another 4)... you name itAnyway, sorry for drifting from the topic at hand... tv series (love TBBT by the way) and interweb memes Edited February 2, 201214 yr by dazz
February 2, 201214 yr These braided cables look sweet. Now only for me to upgrade to the proper power supply for these babys. Maybe I will upgrade to AX series when they includes these with power supply, IF they ever do. Maybe they will even start selling color coordinated psus along with the cables.
February 2, 201214 yr The Big Bang Theory is a showAh, yes, the show. (No cable service here at Area 51, and the TV with "that large dish for an antenna" will only tune into stations "from very far away" :Big Grin: )This is the kit I'm getting: EK Water Blocks EK-KIT H3O - Supreme HF 240 CuThat's quite a water block! How did you decide on that model?EDIT: Ah, I see you posted that already.Cheers,- jahman. Edited February 2, 201214 yr by jahman

And then priorizing. My case decided for me eventually. So If it doesn't work well it's her fault, not mine, hehe
