February 2, 201214 yr Hey all, after an amazing ski trip, i am back.i been in the cockpit landing in munich with 1000m visibility i will upload the vid to youtube and will put a link to it here in the forum.it was an amazing experience, first time in the 737-800NG but not first time in the cockpit.the pilots amazed by how knowledge i had!now i got 2 question after this experience for the NGX1. how can i do that the alignment time of the IRS will be longer, in the cockpit it took about 15mins2.i have tried a couple of autoland but didn't see the rollout and flare signs before the touchdown.3. the hydraulics never shows 3000 each, why is that?also the numbers never mach like 92 and 76.thanks very much and great year!(: Daniel choen

February 2, 201214 yr 1. Go to the PMDG Options menu in the CDU and under Simulation options there should be an IRS page where you can set how long the allignment will take.2. (and maybe 3, I don't know): maybe you are using another livery then the PMDG House livery? Every livery comes with a specific set of options. Problem is you never know what options may have changed... Because this can lead to big problems (for me anyway) I always load the settings from the House livery whenever I use another livery... which in fact means I only have a new exterior and the interior is the same as the House version. It's a pity, but not knowing what settings have been changed is too dangerous. :wink:With the House livery I always see rollout and flare appear when the loc AND g/s are intercepted. February 2, 201214 yr 2: are you set up for fail-passive ops? That's a reason it wouldn't workWell.. no. Flare will still be announced on an autoland. So if no Flare was annunciated, you probably just flew to the earth and happened to make it otherwise well.3. Different hydraulics go different way to different systems, rarely, if ever, will they push the same pressure over the same amount of fluid. The amount indicated is what is there in hydraulics tanks btw, the fluid that is actually in the system of tubes is not counted. --Peter Fabian
February 2, 201214 yr Author thank you guys! will check it tomorrow, i'll tell ya the results, and don't forget tomorrow i'll hope i will upload the video. Daniel choen
February 3, 201214 yr 1) In Munich, IRS alignment is close to 10 minutes, to increase time you must go to the northern airports.2) FLARE and/or ROLLOUT (depending on autopilot options) can be seen only in dual landing (both autopilot engaged)3) PMDG spent time to simulate what is normal, so, you will difficultly find airplanes with exactly 3000PSI and same values for sys A and B. Also, the quantities vary depending on aircraft configuration (slat/flaps, gears, spoilers) as the fluid flows into the various actuators. Regards Andrea Daviero

February 3, 201214 yr It is not a livery problem. All the NGX configuration are able to autoland, the ones with Collins MCP with fail op only are able to rollout. In both cases BOTH AP must be on and LAND 3 (or 2) or CMD must be displayed.I think you must post a screenshot so we can find where the problem is. Regards Andrea Daviero
February 3, 201214 yr Author the case is the only thing that illuminate before the touchdown is the retard, the rollout and flare should illuminate too, right? Daniel choen
February 3, 201214 yr If throttles retards it means that it is autolanding, but how many autopilots are engaged? Can you post a screenshot? Regards Andrea Daviero
February 3, 201214 yr Author If throttles retards it means that it is autolanding, but how many autopilots are engaged? Can you post a screenshot?yes i can i'll do that tomorrow, BTW yes 2 autopilots engaged. Daniel choen
February 4, 201214 yr Author Hey, i watched this, after doing every thing he said it worked but there a lot of liveries without the "minor computer" that he fills in the length and a111, and with out the head top display, how can i set then the land 3, or that the flare and rollout will illuminate, or at these liveries we can't do that? Daniel choen
February 4, 201214 yr All options can be chosen for every livery. I think that for you is better to read the tutorial flight, much more than seeing on on youtube. The introduction manual contains all the answer to have or not head up display, fail op or not, collins or honeywell mcp and so on. This for each livery. However, as I told, each NGX is capable of a CAT3 approach and autolanding capability (CAT is for low visibility, the difference between each other is the minimums where you MUST see the runway or a missed approach must be made). So, each one, correctly configured, without failures, is able to show FLARE, but only the fail OP planes will show ROLLOUT.Use the ngx included documents, they are the best way to learn it.
