February 6, 201214 yr If the first thing you do with MS Flight is to delve into all of the files and folders and try to figure out your own way of inserting your work. All given that the license is permitting of course........
February 6, 201214 yr Been there already. Looks much like the FSX directory structure but the whole thing is stored in a .PAK file.It does have a flight.cfg file which is very similar to FSX.CFGMost other ini type files are now XML.Fred. Frederic Steiner.
February 6, 201214 yr I'd love a look at them. I'm not in the beta, simply because I didn't apply. However, if I did I'd be running a few .pak extractors!
February 6, 201214 yr Extracting isn't the problem, it's recompiling where you run into problems.Someone's already given it a good go :LMAO:Hopefully where there's a will........
February 6, 201214 yr Given the way most PC games are hacked apart and modded within minutes of release, I'd be very surprised if someone didn't find a way to get third party stuff working in Flight.
February 7, 201214 yr I'd be very surprised if someone didn't find a way to get third party stuff working in Flight. And I would be surprised if that worked. But I am no dev. However, I will not be surprised if creative people come up with comfortable ways to do some more configurations than the user interface provides. An example may be more control over controller setups.
February 7, 201214 yr However, I will not be surprised if creative people come up with comfortable ways to do some more configurations than the user interface provides. An example may be more control over controller setups. That already happened during the beta, and with help from the developers, I might add.. Bert
February 7, 201214 yr Commercial Member I dont know about you guys, but MY first priority in a flight sim is to FLY. I leave all the code stuff to the hard-core that like that sort of thing. Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer
February 7, 201214 yr I'd miss not having access to folders and .cfg files. As mentioned, many pc games are modded. If flight's engine is good enough then it may attract sufficient community attention. Would never be the same as an SDK, though. Oz Sim Rig: MSI RTX3090 Suprim, an old, partly-melted Intel 9900K @ 5GHz+, Honeycomb Alpha, Thrustmaster TPR Rudder, Warthog HOTAS, Reverb G2, Prosim 737 cockpit. Currently flying: MSFS: PMDG 737-700, Fenix A320, Leonardo MD-82, MIlviz C310, Flysimware C414AW, DC Concorde, Carenado C337. Prepar3d v5: PMDG 737/747/777. February 7, 201214 yr You don't technically need an SDK, with enough snooping around under the bonnet you could figure out how everything works to some degree, of course it does mean there will never be any "official" add-ons outside of MS.
