February 12, 201214 yr Author Hi Arjen;Your BP settings are quite wrong. Your poolsize has to be considerably larger than the reject threshold, otherwise everything over 3k gets rejected!Bring the pfs limit down to 20 or 25 not 40 - the pc will do 40 or more over the default desert, but not over Orbx PNW or KBOS or KSFO - type scenery. Believe me - a very smooth 23 is quite achievable with the right settings almost anywhere in FSX with 95% aircraft and payware sceneries.Yes - Adobe calls home, and Adobe runs in the background. It is one of the first "must shut downs". You can stop MSE and Adobe with AlacrityPC, and I can send you the settings, should you choose to download the app. It's free. Incidentaly - MSE is one of the best and least intrusive security solutions, but you must also disable Windows Defender, as MSE replaces it.Perhaps my bufferpool settings are quite wrong... But someone else recommended me this and it works for me. When I use your bufferpools size, it reduces framerate by around 30%! So why should I use it then? It does more harm than good to me! And you also said that I can't run BP=0 on my system? Why? Edited February 12, 201214 yr by arjenfsx Arjen Vandervelde
February 12, 201214 yr I didn't say you should use it - I suggested you shpould try it, and I also said that there are many, many other variables that are, or could be contributing to your stutters. There is seldom a "Silver Bullet" fix. With a BP of 0 the 4.5-gig proc will most likely pump more data than the 560 can absorb - so you might want to use a BufferPool. Microsoft suggests 2 - 10MB, as a Poolsize. If someone else told you to use 3k - be my guest. You are free to listen to everyone's opinion! And now - I'm going flying! i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

I managed to reduce the stutters to quite and acceptable level, and perhaps those stutters are just my own imagination. The fight against fps and performance in FSX is just a loosing battle. That's why I'm lookign forward to much to PMDG and XPlane 10. Imagine, never having to suffer from CTD's, low frame rates, stutters anymore. And finally a platform that doesn't require the user to fix the game instead of the developer! Arjen Vandervelde
February 12, 201214 yr You really need to read this and do as instructed in the proper order. It will answer all your questions, and your rig will rock, I promise!http://www.simforums.com/forums/topic34141_post198187.html#198187
February 12, 201214 yr It may be worth checking if your stutters still happen if you reduce all your sliders to near minimum within FSX. If they do it may imply that it is more hardware related than FSX itself. Its a tricky one as there are so many variables... Interesting post from Pete regarding 'Post Rendered Frames'...Hamish
February 12, 201214 yr Road vehicles 50From what I understand road traffic is a known source of stutters, and "50" is a very high setting for that slider. I would reduce that to zero for troubleshooting.FWIW, that particular stutter seen in the video looks to me like the "normal" way FSX terrain moves across the screen, very much unlike FS9 which could appear perfectly smooth. I don't think I've ever seen a video of FSX where the nearby terrain doesn't have that annoying constant micro-stuttering way of moving across the screen. Then I'll try how that works for me.Here is mine, but before using it you probably want to copy over your [Trust] section (I've deleted mine -- it was huge!), or you'll have to re-confirm any addons February 13, 201214 yr Author Pete I tried your settings and it did not really make a difference unfortunately. I think the problem is my graphics card. Because it's not a regular GTX 560TI, but it's a GTX 560TI-448, which has 448 shader units instead of the regular 384, and 1280 MB of VRAM instead of the regular 1024MB. I think I'm gonna return it and go for the GTX 580 1.5 GB instead. I should have done that from the beginning. Silly me. I think that will cure my stutters, otherwise, I don't know. Arjen Vandervelde
February 13, 201214 yr That would allow BP=0 and a far better 'balance'. February 13, 201214 yr Hi,I recently upgraded my GPU and upgraded to an SSD. Fps is great, most of the time it's around 35-45 fps, sometimes it drops to 25, but that even happens on the best systems. But, there's one problem I'm having. Even though I have a tweaked FSX.cfg with bojotes tweaking tool, and I have an SSD, good graphics card, and I've set up Ryan's NVIDIA inspector guide, but still, I'm having some stutters. The stutters are only very small, but they happen a lot, all the time. It's not that bad, but it's noticeable. Here's, a video. I am using Fraps, which makes the stutters worse, but it's quite comparable. Fraps makes my FPS drop from 35 to around 25. I'm getting around 35 fps here in LFPG from Aerosoft normally. With some small but frequently happening stutters. Using an FPS limiter does not really work. If you have any suggestions, that would be highly appreciated. If you have a good system, similar to mine, with no stutters at all, I would really appreciate that!I'm just wondering, if everyone isn't seeing some occasional stutters? Even on the best systems? Perhaps it's just that I"m never satisfied or something...Thanks in advance,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzOsuvQ7HsE&feature=youtu.be Check your BIOS settings and set the RAM to default. It should default to a lower setting.I don't think it's the video card. The right bufferpools setting is very important, but so is the driver. I use the 275.33 it with the latest Inspector and I don't see scenery lags.I would try the 275.33 driver with a BP=30000. If you have updated the BIOS and set the RAM to default and don't see a change, I have to think that win7 has an issue somewhere. I guess you know where I'm heading from here.Be patient. This can be fixed. MSFS

That's one of the problems it has. The GTX 560Ti-448 has only been released around 3 months ago, so it's very new. Therefore it's limited to the 285xx drivers or later.
