Why are some of you so mad about Flight been closed to you (3PD), as I understand, from some of your post, Flight will be a BIG flop, so why are you so mad?As some of you also said or think, Flight will only release small regions, so if I take that in consideration, how many of you (3PD) would it take to cover an area like Hawaii, so does MS really need 3PD for such small area like that?Can you not keep making addons for FSX?Why bother with Flight if you all think that it will be dead in the water in a matter of weeks or months, I don't get it......or is it that you may be secretly scared of the fact that Flight may take off (pun intended) and by doing so addons for it will be a hit and you'll be left in the dust?So, if Flight is to be a major flop (according to some of you 3PD) there is no threat to you, so why bashing the product....FSX still there is it not?

I think the issue is that a new FS release means new sales of products as they are made compatible and sold as new products, being "bigger and better", even though the reality is the changes are often minor, unless it is a total re-write. The fact that so many products are dual FS9/FSX speaks volumes to how SIMILAR the two are, rather than how different. The best example of this is the LSH MD-82. The most complex add-on for FS9/FSX, which was developed before FSX even existed, and supports full multi-crew in BOTH simulators!Best regards,Robin.

You have to admit that Alain does have a point:Most of the same members here who seem to be the most upset about the apparent lack of 3PD for Flight, are the some members who keep stating that Flight is certain to be a failure. Makes me kinda wonder about which one is their biggest concern.

I hope you understand that 3rd party dev's does not necessarily means payware developers? At least for me, I enjoy making sceneries. I have started with YsFlight simulator so don't just think it's about money. Also it happens to be that my two hobbies (aviation, 3d modeling) were involved in FSX design that I'm making addons. Why should I be happy if I cannot make any addons for a new Flight "simulator"? Let's see the failure Flight is gonna be without some really passionate enthusiasts.

I'm not convinced that there will be a " lack of 3rd party dev's." My theory is that there are already a number of 3PDs working on Flight DLC. But I'm not predicting that Flight will be a success, as there are way too many unknown factors involved for me to go out on that limb.

if what you call the truth its someone opinion about a product, there is nothing wrong with posting what you think , But trying to make that opinion a law that everyone has to follow what you think or else they are wrong . thats not a good thing at all .

When you say, Flight does not have ATC, Ai traffic, 24000 airports, sdk, etc some people say it's bashing Flight. Well the truth is the truth!

Devinci made an excellent point regarding freeware devs. My first add-ons of all types were freeware! It was their dedication that has caused me to get involved in FS beyond a mere consumer.Best regards,Robin.

I said it a long time ago that Flight will not be business as usual, but I agree with your post, it is because of what freeware devs. started we have a very good looking FSX today, having said that, can somebody tells me what is Flight taking away from FSX....freeware or payware, if nothing, why the anger?

How about opportunity? Yes, we can continue to create add-ons for FSX forever. But as a long time FS user, I am disappointed that we have gone as far as we can with the MSFS line, and that it won't be continued. I would have liked to develop freeware for future versions of FS, but that "opportunity" is lost. It's not about "what MS promised me", or any of the other rhetoric on this forum. It's about what reasonable expectations I had as a customer. With MS starting a new chapter with Flight, I feel left out as a developer. I feel stuck in the past with nowhere to go.I wouldn't call this "anger" as you say, just disappointment. I believe that many of the more emotional posts (from both sides) have been encouraged by a few trolls on these forums (I'm not talking about you though). Some people seem to have a very polarized view of things and view any Criticism (or praise) as either "bashing" (or fanboyism).So, yes, I'm not happy about the decision to abandon future versions of MSFS, but I honestly think the writing was on the wall when the Aces team left. I don't want Flight to fail, but I don't see it as a successor to FSX, which is what many of us hoped it might have been.

Speaking as a 3rd party add-on maker. FSX market is dwindling, and rapidly. Not only that, but the few that are left over are super picky. Not only that, but almost every popular aircraft has been covered 3 times over. The most difficult thing right now is FINDING A PROJECT TO DO. 3rd party's were hoping Flight would be there next cash cow. Seems the farmer that owns that cow is tired of us milking it for free.
