February 16, 201214 yr I'd love a PMDG ERJ or E-Jet.Wilco/Feelthere's E-Jets are a non-starter for me, since they don't have full system simulation or failure simulation.
February 16, 201214 yr Commercial Member Not a fan of the E-Jets, to be honest. It's probably me being a bitter ex-rampie, but those things are terrible. Most places consider them regionals, so they get stuck on the smaller gates, but they're large enough to be on the gates with jetbridges, so now I've gotta wheel stairs up to them. The bag bin almost rivals an MD80 for max discomfort. Ask a rampie about the fire detector down there, and they'll instinctively reach for their head and rub it.I have no opinion on the flight side. I've never flown in one, or flown one. I can say, having been in the cockpit multiple times that it's definitely up to date, even though I don't like the feel of it. It just does nothing for me, I guess.I think in the end, my biggest aversion to it is that it looks like a freaking short bus. Kyle Rodgers
February 16, 201214 yr My god do I... Short hops, lots of cycles, working for a living doing the grunt work for the man. Sounds good to me. No one to date has anything approaching PMDG quality on a short haul like the ERJ,CRJ, or E-jets. Daniel Fernandez
February 16, 201214 yr I think it would be a pretty difficult business decision for PMDG, as Wilco Pub's E-Jet series are actually a very slick representation of these aircraft. They are developed by FeelThere and are actually quite decent if anyone's interested.Very true. I own the whole series from from FeelThere and really enjoy them. The problem is ever since the 737 came out everything else doesn't compare so it sets a whole new level of standards. Not a fan of the E-Jets, to be honest. The carpet in the bin was an annoyance too since you couldn't slide the bags to the belt loader. Fortunately for us we parked them at a normal gate. I think for worst bin, the CRJ 200 wins, that thing was a pain. John Bauer
February 16, 201214 yr Commercial Member I think for worst bin, the CRJ 200 wins, that thing was a pain.I will agree that its dimensions were odd, but at least you could stand up (sort of) and the floor was flat...When I worked for Independence Air, I had loading those things (200s) down to an art. February 16, 201214 yr Ya, the CRJs were fine to load. Same with the E-135s and 145s. But the 170s and 190s were awful. Barely enough room to be on all fours, and with the abrasive flooring material, you couldn't even slide bags...l. Also, they tended to hate the cold (I'm in CYOW) more than other aircraft, lavs and water lines froze easily.
February 16, 201214 yr The E-Jets would be awesome!!Brandon Platt Edited February 16, 201214 yr by Lidsrock
February 17, 201214 yr From what I have heard over the past years, Embraer doesn't like to share information, specially if that's for a simulated aircraft made for the retail customer market. I can't imagine PMDG having a deal with them the way they have with Boeing right now. Alexis Mefano
February 17, 201214 yr I think in the end, my biggest aversion to it is that it looks like a freaking short bus.+1If it's anything like the 145 series, you want to stay away.
February 18, 201214 yr E-Jets rulez!!! CRJs sux!PMDG have to make more Embraers, don't have good Embraers in FSX.The Wilco Embraers are bad. Gustavo M. Aguiar Texturas Brasileiras GroupMy photos at Airliners.netMy photos at JetPhotos
February 20, 201214 yr I fully support the E-Jet idea! A PMDG/NGX quality 170/175/190/195 would rock. A sure buy for me.IMHO when PMDG will have done their 777 we'll have kind of enough high quality long-range airliners for FSX.I personally sorely miss some good modern regional aircraft like the E-Jets or the CRJs.And yes, I do own the packages from other devs, but those don't satisfy me in terms of graphics quality and simulation depth. After having flown the NGX intensely for quite some time now, I can barely look at any other addon without cringing. Spoiled me. Dave P. Woycek
